re: SI seems to be saying the players laid down last year over O's Trump remarks-is that true?

Nearly every person who spoke to SI described that day—Aug. 28, 2020—as the date in which the coach “lost” his football team. “They really f----- up all the social justice stuff last year,” says one former player. “There’s no getting the team back after that.”

"Nearly every person" could be 2 people. If there was no getting the team back after that, then I don't know how they managed to rally with a ton of starters out and beat Florida and Ole Miss to finish at .500 when everyone was saying LSU was going to get humiliated in those games.

Going on foxnews was the real problem

If you think O going on fox news caused players to give less effort, thereby lowering their own draft stock, then I think you are badly miscalculating the minds and motivations of college athletes.

Maybe record minority numbers, but not record among African Americans. He only had 12% of the black vote. And he only got that after Biden said he would end oil drilling. So many African Americans men in Texas and Louisiana change their vote to Trump Bc that’s their livelihood.

Oh I believe the story. Mike Grundy had to get on his knees and beg for forgiveness for wearing an OAN hat. And he’s truly a players coach.

I think this whole situation could have been avoided if O had just quoted the above verbatim so that the young black men in his care could finally see everything clearly.

We got some great problem solvers here on the Rant.

Yea F that. An opinion is now invalid because it doesn't mesh with everyone else's? PLenty of reasons to show O the door, but this is definitely not one.

Orgeron's comments of support for former President Donald Trump — whom his Black players believed espoused racist ideologies and theories — contributed to him losing his team. So too did his lack of support for players' demonstrations against racial inequality and injustice prior to the start of the 2020 season.

If that is true, what a bunch of pansy arse pussies.

Trump didn’t kill George Floyd. The two are mutually exclusive. This is woke bs.

everyone’s fault but O. Why did jacoby stevens and k’lavon chaisson say O was blind to the situation and jacoby say players would sit unless O talked it out. Seems O is at fault here not Ryan Clark

I don't know the answer, but wasn't the interview with Sandra Smith, former LSU T&F athlete? I.e. there was an LSU connection and an opportunity to pimp LSU to a nationwide audience. And you make a passing, innocuous statement about being treated well at the White House, and that the then President was doing good things trying to support college football. And a bunch of thin skinned, priveleged punks use that as motivation to shite on you? Says more about them than the coach, and I'm pretty agnostic about the whole situation.

You forgot that nothing of what you just said happened to fit the narrative of the (election) year of 2020 “racial inequality” and a close second was “15 days to flatten the curve”

Opportunity to play for LSU??? Most of these guys had their choice of school. You're detached from reality
