Has Nutt ever had 2 good seasons in a row? NO
Actually, he did once, 2002-2003. But aside from that, yeah, he's never been consistently successful as a head coach. He's a consistent notch above John Brady, occassional bad seasons sprinkled into mostly decent seasons with a couple of really good ones just in time to save his job (until last year).

Oh...they'll go 8-4 again but they won't get any better just like ark in 2002-2003.

Notre Dame-----> honestly wtf... how many terrible seasons does it take for SI to stop ranking them in the top 25?

and the Rebels get spanked by Florida,

The Gators NEVER spank Ole Miss. Everybody else, yes, but never us. We have won 3 of the last 4 against them, lead the all-time series against them, and generally own them.....just like we own LSU whenever the talent levels are fairly even as they are now....

Just sayin......

You clearly meant Clemson.

And know nothing about Va. Tech's pre-season rankings vs. their ending ranking, I encourage you to do a little research before you slam a team on the internet

He's obviously impressed by the solid QB play Bama has gotten in the Spring.

You have got to be kidding me.

Sounds like a lame excuse. Historically your talent level has always sucked comparitively. Like the modern day Stanfords of the Pac, the rebs are spoiler makers who on occation play over thier heads. You won a game, congrats. Remember..........youre still Ole Miss.

Just sayin.....

Slow down, NJ...this is a WAG at a prognostication you're talking about. I am in no way dissing your boys.

I think you picked the wrong word (own), unless you mean you can only beat LSU when they're having a shitty year.

No. Bama's biggest hole going into Spring was the QB position. By all accounts McElroy had a great spring and likely won the starting job in a system that does not rely on a star quarterback.

Bama will start the season 1-0.

More like 0-1 and on the way to an 9-4 campaign.

Over and over they put VT high. Boise, TCU and Oregon ranked that high = FAIL!!!

I got the Tigers beating Florida but losing a game they shouldn't. Ole Miss is the most likely candidate.
I'm afraid will be a definite underdog against Ole Mess.

I'm more worried about UGA... if we had to lose a game this would be the best one.

I still think we will surprise the hell out of people.

A sputtering O kept the D on the field a long time last year.

If you take an improved O (even if only a marginal improvement from last year) and a bad arse D (which I have no doubt they will be) we should scary good

"SI ranks LSU #13 after spring ball"

Has SI ever predicted anything correctly in the publications history? Apart from the swimsuit issue this is one of America's artifacts. It was the game at one time, but now? Nobody cares what they think. The average ranter has a better, less bias grasp of college football than SI (OK, I hyperbolize). But, you see my point.

There is nothing truly outrageous about SI's top 25.

They got Florida right last year.

I do get your point, tho.

And what do BoiseState, Cincinatti and East Carolina have in common? They are ranked ahead of the Irish.

Considering 2 of those 3 are also ranked ahead of LSU, I wouldn't boast too much.
