It’s blatantly obvious who made the Scott Woodward hire. It’s also very clear who threatened to pull money if changes weren’t made.

At the end of the day LSU is a multi-million dollar business. F King, by his own addmission can’t get LSU operating in the black. Which is embarrassing every time he says that shot. As someone who never liked frats- his handling of the Greek situation should hvs gotten him fired.

King has political ambitions and has said on record that he’d like to put a cap on coach spending at LSU.

He doesn’t have LSUs best interest at heart, he has his own political ambitions. Meanwhile here’s a quote from Skip Bertman on Mr. Lipsey

quote:

“Richard is a guy who has done more than any other person I’ve met in Baton Rouge—and I’ve met a lot of great people,” says former LSU baseball coach and athletic director Skip Bertman, who met Lipsey when he moved to Baton Rouge more than 30 years ago. “Many people are willing to give money, but few are willing to work to raise money, and even fewer are willing to do both. Richard does both.”

Is there any doubt that Lipsey and Woodward would do everything in their power to make LSU better every day? Not to mention is there anyone more connected to the money in South Louisiana?

Wasn’t Lipsey one of the founding members of TAF?

Isn’t this the leaders that we need?

Here’s a quote from Lipsey on his business philosophy

quote:

“You hire good people, people who are smarter than you, and you treat them well,” he says. “You’ve got to have partners. Everybody who works for you has to have a proprietary feeling of the company. You’ve don’t ask anyone to do anything you wouldn’t do.”

How many years have we been asking of this from our Leaders???

I’m fine with Lipsey not being he President but he should be the head of the search committee that appoints the next president.

Scott Woodward is going to be the AD, "predisdent", football HC and baseball HC. Him and Will Wade will own the SEC for years to come.

True story.

I know he’s a Democrat and probably would prefer to stay in the business world, but I always suggested getting a guy like Jim Bernhardt to be LSU president.

They should move James Williams there since he started the push for Woodward

Lipsey may bleed purple and gold, and is a smart businessman. BUT, he has no experience, credentials or expertise to run an academic institution with biomedical research campuses. Just not a world he lives in!

We have a business man running the country at the moment, I think Lipsey would do just fine.

It’s like people didn’t even read the threads and article saying JW knew Woody and contacted him to secure his interest prior to making any moves with Alleva.

Lipsey was great and vocal, but it’s often the quiet ones in these situations that are making things happen.

Lester is never quiet, which is why he never makes things happen.

Yes , Steinbergs was his family’s business and he now runs one of the largest gun distributors in the country and several other businesses. I worked for Mr Lipsey many years ago and consider him of one the best leaders I’ve ever worked with. Totally non sports related but google his connection to JFK.

As interim if F’king is fired? Maybe, if he’d accept it.

He’s 79. He doesn’t want the job full-time. I think he’d be the first one to rule himself out as a potential long-term solution.

And F King does? The man literally got a vote of no confidence and was hired anyway. Lipsey would do fine. People think because he’s a business man he can’t run the university and they are dead wrong.

He would be involved in finding a replacement but wouldn’t be interested in the job. For what it’s worth, he is in my opinion way more pissed off about LSU lowering admission standards than he is about anything athletics related

Richard is everything that everyone has said on this thread and much much more. Richard loves LSU more than anyone I know and frankly I never would believe someone could love it more than I do or others. He does. He has put his time and money into it more than anyone else as well.

He was instrumental in bringing awareness to the right people of problems. But we all should make no mistake about who made the decision and the effort to go after Woodward and handle it professionally and without it getting out. ... the current Chair James Williams. Frankly if he can orchestrate what he just did we should all realize the man is capable and let him have his due. It has been some time since we have had that sort of leadership.

It leads me to believe King went off on his own the day he suspended WW . Without Board approval which is certainly within his purview. Just not smart and politically savvy. . It also would confirm as to why King went on a disinformation campaign with the BOS. It has cost him , and dearly.

Give it up for Mr Williams

Do you actually believe the shite you type Lester?

The advocate piece was obviously a puff piece that king spoon fed to his new mouthpiece.

Have an original thought for the first time in your life.
