If we win it all (and joe wins the heisman) I want to them to put a statue up next to Billy Cannon.

Doesn't have to be this year, could be 5-10 years down the road. He'd deserve it. And I wouldn't mind a statue of future heismans going up next to them.

Just my two cents.

I wonder if Tebow will vote for him

On the sec network when they interviewed Burrow, Tebow told him 'see ya in New York' and gave him a little head nod. it was a pretty cool moment.

tebow knows whats up...

No rush
No timetable
Look how long it took Bertman to get a statue

You can retire number in stadium at some point
Statue will come at some point to go with Cannon

Florida does have statues for all three of their Heisman winners and it didn't take long to do one for Tebow

To think Burrow's decision likely came down to LSU and Cincinnati, imagine the accolades he would have passed up

If I recall they retired Cannon’s as soon as his eligibility was up.

Officially? I saw an interview with Archie Manning saying his number isn't or wasn't retired for the Saints but the equipment manager just never issues it to anyone. That was probably the same with #20 until it was retired later on.

I like the way LSU does it. They hardly ever retire a jersey. Some teams(Yankees) are starting to run out of numbers. With that being said absolutely #9 should be retired when Joe wins the Heisman.

This. Rosters are big and it's caused some problems. I would love to see a player wear 20 again.

No on the number but yes on the statue.

Hell yes!! He’s better than anyone that’s worn purple and gold. Way better.

Our last Heisman winner was the last player to ever wear the number he wore.

it doesn't have to be retired to not be issued out. I've never seen a 22-23 yr old have a jersey retired. IDK why some take waiting as disrespectful to JB. I think he would be more honored to come back after his pro career for the ceremony. Hell Chris Jackson is just getting his number retired this year.

You think it was just coincidence that nobody ever wore 20 again?

Don’t issue the number again until Burrow is no longer playing football ... then retire the number when he can enjoy the moment more. Retiring the number too soon just seems to devalue the significance of the occasion.

Only if there was a way to humiliate Jordan Jefferson at the same time.

I hate the whole “retiring numbers” idea, but if we have to do this, clearly Burrow’s number should be retired.
