It’s too late. To schedule a week zero game at this point is not a good look. Other teams are capable of winning against quality opponents in their first game, and we’ve done so in the past (the distant past). Deal with it and play the hand you are dealt.

would love this move. There's a good chance a guy like Pickett is a day one starter along with many pieces on the offensive line playing their first games as full time starters. As gifted as he is, having his first taste of college ball be vs a top 10 wr room in the country would be a hell of an introduction to college ball. Would love to get a quick week 0 cupcake for some of the young players before they walk into that Clemson environment

It wouldn't be a 13th opponent. One of the scheduled games would move up to week zero and you'd get another bye week.
I don't think we fall under the exceptions to the rule though. We don't play out of the country, we don't play Hawaii, and none of our opponents play Hawaii.
