I agree Shep will have a breakthrough year. Bubbble screens and getting him the ball in space with Mettsiah slinging the rock! 2012 isn't the end of the world it's a new beginning

i agree, only a change at QB will matter, the more shep gets the ball the better...I think he could explode next year..i hope so, he def my favorite player..

He better work on his route-running, beating the press and hands then...

So glad Shep chose to return. He's a leader.

I for one would love to see him have a dynamite year!

He'll have about what you would expect from our third or fourth wideout.

Shep won't touch the ball 20 times in 2012.

Hope I'm wrong, but I'll believe it when I see it.

"Sky was a senior in 2005 when Les arrived on the scene. He ended that season with 32 catches for 268 yards with a punt return for a score. Before that? In 2004 he went 24 catches for 219 and 3 TD's. In 2003 he had his best year with 48 catches for 519 and 5 TD's. In 2002 he was 7 for 123 and a TD."

this actually gives me a good deal of hope regarding Shepard. Look at Green's year to year stats:

2002 - QB play was "OK" (Mauck, pre-injury) to poor (Randall). Poor stats for Green

2003 - Mauck is healthy and more seasoned and turned in one of the better QB seasons in LSU histroy. Green has his best year by far.

2004 - Green's stats plummet due to the mostly poor QB play we had that year with Randall and the young JR.

2005 - Green's stats rebound somewhat with an emerging, but still often shaky JR at QB. (2006 was JR's breakout season and I argue that his best work really came in the latter half of 2006).

If Mett is as good as we think, I look for Shep's stats to go up considerably.

Les over the years have wasted more talent than most coaches ever had! Holiday comes to mind right off. Maybe because Les likes seniors Shep will get a chance this year. I wish Les would play his best players instead of seniors. After this NC screw up , maybe he finally gets it but I am going to wait & see.

the only reason he hasn't been able to showcase his skill, is b/c of the coaching staff.

Get rid of all the bs wide receiver screens this year, please!!!

Skyler's stats actually went like this:

quote:

2002 - QB play was "OK" (Mauck, pre-injury) to poor (Randall). Poor stats for Green

tranistioning from HS QB to WR. didn't start playing until late, got PT once Devery went down (might have resdshirted otherwide) and did pretty well with Randall

quote:

2003 - Mauck is healthy and more seasoned and turned in one of the better QB seasons in LSU histroy. Green has his best year by far.

pretty much on point. he'd settled into the WR spot, and was a bad man outta the slot.

quote:

2004 - Green's stats plummet due to the mostly poor QB play we had that year with Randall and the young JR.

hurt his ankle early, never fully healthy until the Cap One. also started to get a lil chunky.

quote:

2005 - Green's stats rebound somewhat with an emerging, but still often shaky JR at QB. (2006 was JR's breakout season and I argue that his best work really came in the latter half of 2006).

looked even chunkier. and Bowe/ Buster/ Early were better WRs.
