All things exploitive will be exposed. It’s the natural way. College sports is exploitive- and it leans heavily on the backs of these minority athletes. It became that way with massive tv deals, massive stadiums to fill, and some greed. Now we will see greed the other way.

This is one of the biggest misconceptions going around in sports. The foundation of CFB is the fans with strong ties to the universities and the strong alumni bases with deep pockets. CFB is much bigger than the players themselves. Swap em all out with Ivy League players and FBS football would still rake in the cash because the fans and alumni base are the foundation. People want to watch their school play and win. They don’t give a shite who the players are. Players benefit from the structure of CFB, not the other way around. NIL is nothing but looking for a solution to something that was never a problem. Players weren’t quitting or deciding not to play just because “all” they got was a free education and free meals and notoriety.

Straight facts there. The schools, fans, and alumni bases make CFB, not the players.

From what I've seen it's not really being used as intended, a marketing tactic, it's just a shell for paying players cash. So they don't really give a shite about the potential nfl player angle.

There is only so many package deals you can give out. Who is to say lsu doesnt have its stuff together and Kelly wants to use the bulk to get portal kids and not recruits. I mean we didn’t have a great year but that second half showed we have a good core for next. You just need to add some key experience pieces.

What is so freaking insane is that LSU WAS AHEAD OF THE GAME!! Who else owned Times Square with huge NILSU billboards with the picture of a smoking hot gymnast with millions of social media followers.

WTF has happened since then. Seems like a massive failure of imagination inside the athletic department.

They ran that add to say we have potential money you can get. However, LSU can’t seek it out for the player like an agent. The gymnast was sought out, plus she posed with Burrow plus what she markets has always been a the top selling product in history. Even Tom Brady is second in income at home!

LSU needs to get the businesses set up to win by funneling money to them through boosters BUT it has to happen without LSUs involvement. Joe’s pizza can’t triple its advertising budget without sales to back it up.

So do you think the school, fans and alumni bases drives ESPN and the other networks to fork over a shitload of money? Because if that were the case, then we would be watching the damn IVY League and the Service Academies on TV every weekend in Prime Time.

We now have professional sports with no salary cap, no contracts, no rules. Go to the highest bidder. And you’re 18. What could possibly go wrong ?!? Can you imagine the hangers-on these guys will be dealing with? Who has time to think about football? Where’s my next deal? Where can I transfer to for more $? If NFL draft picks end up broke, how do we think this will go? And anyone who actually thought NIL was only going to mean paying kids for their jersey sales and autographs was beyond naive. Pay them a straight up salary, bank most of it until they are done playing, and stop the random highest bidder, ridiculous deals stuff.
