At LSU Reed was uncoverable. Chase was open a LOT but he had a much better set of players include tGOAT QB around him.
It’s Reed IMO.
Jefferson was also better than Clayton and Doucet IMO.
Would’ve been fun to see OBJ and Landry in Brady’s offense.

That TD was the most unbelievable play I've ever seen in a football game. How Reed still caught that ball and came down in bounds was utterly superhuman.

Wendell Davis was something to behold as well.

Chase’s YPC puts him at the top...and it still doesn’t fully capture his dominance. On 1/4 of his touches he wasn’t tackled and could have gone farther, but the end zone stopped him.
Scoring a TD on a quarter of your touches with his volume is incredible.

When Landry blew that guy up from auburn on kickoff his freshman year he was my favorite.
What chase did at LSU may not be repeated. I think Landry had better hands than OBj. But when Odell had the ball in his hands he was he’s to get down. Still think Landry will have a better nfl career.

Madking, don’t try pulling those liberal bs tactics on us. Calm down. Sammy is right. Chase is the best and it’s not even close. Once you except the facts and let go of this “Reed once was” mentality you will feel better.

I love Chase and own some of his stuff. Hes the only college player Ive ever bought memorabilia for.
But Reed was the most productive receiver at LSU that I can remember.
The other teams knew LSU was going to him and still couldnt stop him.

No it’s an example to show how absurd what you’re trying to do is. You’re cutting out games from one player but not the other to manipulate the numbers in support of your bias.
If you were just disagree with me it would be an argument. But you’re saying I was lying. But what I said I Clearly 100% accurate.

No you’re not biased. Totally objective lol
This is a completely subjective issue. I am Not picking stats to argue for Chase. I’m arguing for Chase because of the stats.

Going by your logic football is played to with the sole purpose of inflating certain players stats.
Not the point is the move the ball.

We didn’t need to feed anyone, we had 2 NFL backs, an NFL TE, multiple NFL WRs and an NFL QB running the show.
Multiple NFL WRs
Michael Clayton was. True Freshmen
Desert Henderson was a Sophmore. He caught 1 pass
Jerel Myers was a practice squad guy in NFL.
Reed caught over 40% of our passes. Probably got close to 45% of targets. And they second guy wasn’t close. If you watch that Alabama game, which is his signature game, he’s catches a ton of balls at the LOS or within 5 yards on plus just designed to get him the ball so he can run.

You don’t know what you’re talking about, you didn’t watch that team which is why you say stupid shite like “Reed had 19 targets per game.”
Did read not have at least 19 targets against Alabama? At least.
Posted on 6/19/21 at 11:13 am to Sticker1971
Reed did it when he was the only guy and won the biletnikoff before LSU became a powerhouse.

Against Bama, yes. He had 19 catches in fact. Against everyone else that year, I’d find 19 targets per game very hard to believe.

This. It’s just like the GOAT conversations, it’s difficult to compare athletes of different era’s, to many things change. (Game, rules, technology, nutrition)

Of note, let’s not pretend that the Alabama team Reed went off against is equivalent to the Bama teams of today that Chase faced. After the LSU game, Bama was unranked, with SEC wins over only Vanderbilt and Arkansas and sitting at a 3-5 record. They fed him against a mediocre team and to his credit he went off.
He also fumbled three times in that game. I’m not sure I remember Chase ever fumbling. This, despite the fact that the scouting report as he was coming out included the following:
“However, his best asset is his ability after the catch. He's an angry runner! He powers through tackles and always competes for every last inch before going down.”

Reed
Landry
Chase
OBJ
Clayton
Doucet.
I don't think anyone can argue against Reed's stellar college performance. Chase was great while he was here, but he played only two years, only one of which was lights-out. Again, the question regards college performance.
