Because if that’s the case, you have to wonder if he saw the writing on the wall for this season…

The rules change so damn often and are seemingly applied at random so who the hell knows.

Don’t really even know if it matters. He has been a complete letdown since day 1.

Doesn't matter.
He has never been much of a contributor...

Yes and he has NFL $ waiting for him so expect family to pull out all the stops that would interfere with family plans for retirement

Someone will bring him in to camp. Even undrafted players make $ and have long careers. The guy has potential.

Absolutely. Anybody that can’t see the potential and the flashes of some special traits in games isn’t paying attention. Health has been his biggest hindrance so far and the fact that our OLine is garbage.

Who exactly is going to draft him? He hasn't done anything here.

Nope, not if suspended from the team for academics he can’t save this year. But last year didn’t count against anyone’s eligibility and he still has a red-shirt he can take.

He is technically a sophomore because of Covid and he still has a red-shirt he can use, so if he used he red-shirt on this fiasco next year he would be considered a red-shirt sophomore with two years of eligibility left

Because last year didn’t count on eligibility, probably best to go to a NC and come back here for the spring

You mean 3 years? If he took a redshirt this year he would still have eligibility in 2022, 2023, and 2024.

That said, OP’s entire premise is silly. Nobody is intentionally failing to maintain academic eligibility just to force a redshirt. He would just transfer at that point.

Emery is just the same old Emery. Cant understand the excitement. It's not like we're getting a Reggie Bush back.
