Again, understood...at this point. But, I worry about the teams that don't participate in the fall 2020 season making enough noise to start 2021 early. Does LSU just opt out of a spring start? Can players just opt out of that?

That isn’t an option no matter what. LSU (and the rest of the SEC, ACC, Big 12) aren’t playing now and playing again in the spring. Zero chance that happens.

Any teams that plan on playing in the spring can play by themselves.

The extra year of eligibility would benefit the middling/system based programs more than the powerhouses. Programs like Wisconsin, Texas Tech, Oklahoma state, VA Tech, as opposed to Clemson, Ohio State, LSU, Bama.

No one will play in the spring. If the big 10 and PAC 12 don't change course and play this fall them at least the big 10 plans to play Jan-feb to allow 6 months of recovery time in order to start the 21 season on time.

I get what you are saying but another year of development, work and maturity can go a long way when we are talking about a guy who is 21-22 years old. Maybe a guy who was a possible late round or free agent could improve his stock immensely.

Which seniors on LSU's team will start this year, not get drafted, and then not get passed up by someone younger so that they start again next year? The only person that comes to mind is Andre Anthony.

WR - Jontre Kirklin
S - Cameron Lewis (could be really big with S depth)
LB - Ray Thornton
DE - Andre Anthony/Travez Moore

I count 74 scholarship players on my sheet. I may be high since it is hard to keep track of all of the attrition.
14 seniors and 14 juniors.
26 new counters means we need about 15 people to leave to maintain 85 limit.
All bets are off if they don't count the scholarships of seniors and expand the roster like they did for baseball.
I would love to see Liam Shanahan, Cameron Lewis, Jontre Kirklin, and Zach Von Rosenberg come back in addition to Neil Farrell Jr.
Barring relief on the 85 limit, LSU would need about six guys to leave early which would be about average.
Since there are only 2 underclass safeties right now, having Lewis and Harris come back would be critical for safety depth next year. I am hoping that LSU gets 3 or 4 safeties in the 2021 and 2022 classes to rebuild the depth.

Moss was just cut and may not be on an NFL roster. He wasn’t drafted either. You wouldn’t want him back this year?
