Shows just how far our baseball program has fallen behind. Those crowds are electric like The Box used to be and should be. It’s very depressing where we are now compared to those programs. A change has got to be made soon. Our players and fans deserve better.

Not saying they would be packing the box but limited capacity & mask mandates have kept me from finding tickets

ETA

LSU doesn’t care if people don’t show as long as they buy the tickets

It’s sad and such a shame. LSU is more concerned with the fricking marshalls making sure everybody is masked up than having a home field advantage.

Doesn't help that our Administration does not give a F about athletics

With how terrible this team is the box would only have had a few thousand today anyways. Baseball attendance has been sliding for awhile now

No doubt but I think season tickets still have a waiting list so LSU is obviously still making money regardless

The weather hadn’t been terrible yet but come May who wants to sit on metal bleachers wearing a mask at 2 in the afternoon?

Between Covid, shitty concessions & an underperforming team I wouldn’t pay to go sit out there

But I kept hearing it was all JBE’s fault that the Box was dead? That’s what I kept hearing after the first few series. Or maybe the fan base realized this was a fraudulent start based on playing nobody and once their true colors were exposed, nobody wants to watch a poor product?

I’m not a PM fan by no means but a lot of this is caused by JBE and LSU admin.

It’s much more the product that’s being put on the field. I watched a bunch of folks leaving the LSU Spring game and heading over to watch the 2nd game of the DH. We promptly get pasted 9 to 0.
Could have revived some excitement today with the walk up crowd but laid an egg.

Should have just kept the old box. It had a real atmosphere to it. Felt different than anywhere else.

This has really sucked out a lot of the enjoyment of attending games. I don't get it. We are spaced and outside.

And man this is it right here. Hell, I remember (yes I'm old) pre Skip. shite, they were horrible but at least we could get fans to show up. Then enter Skip, and after a bit you couldn't find a ticket. We need to get some Ws and get this shite turned around.

It doesn’t have anything to do with the physical structure but a outside berm type area would help. Bertman was innovative in getting fans in the stadium before they were great. LSU has been riding his coattails for years.

1) complacency
2) old fots in their old reserved seats
3) CPM
4) not a great product

1, 2 and 4 can all be similarly attributed to the success we’ve had in decades past. On one hand it’s great to be at LSU where chanpionshops are built. On the other hand, you’re expected to deliver great baseball teams. Even if you don’t win it all you should be walking the walk year in and year out.

The old fots, lsu became that college team that was so good for so long, we even “appreciated” losing in a series where a team just showed up that weekend and outplayed us. F that shite. I hate losing. To anyone. Ever. Its what made tiger stadium nostalgic for decades. Stop being there “because we won it all” and be there as if “we’ve never won’t it all”. That’s what arky and state have in their stadiums. DESIRE AND HUNGER.

we need hunger in baseball again.

And I’m not sure Baum is not the best atmosphere in the country.
