RPI is important, but Vanderbilt has just had a bad last week. Went from potential national seed, to 6th in the West, 2-4 record in its last 6 games, will fall to 15-25 in all the major polls, not to mention the teams they're losing to are teams they are competing with for postseason position (LSU, OleMiss, USC).
They may very well still end up hosting a regional, but it has been a rough finish for Vandy.
