Nothing is official. There is nothing even listed on your link. only TBA and subject to change.

When I see Vern Lundquist, I'm kicking him square in the nuts for this one!
He is excellent and always has been going back to his days as the Dallas Cowboys' play by play guy in the 70s and early 80s.

You missed it. when it was posted, the game times were listed. Why don't you read more than the first post of a 4 page thread...
ETA: If you look at the post before yours, lsu makes an offical reply to the CBS posting.
Which basically means, LSU said we are not going to play all are marquee home games during the day.
So again I reiterate, read before you post and think before you speak!

Calling D. Byrd....Demetrius "Boyd" and Matt Flynn.....Matt "Quinn" during the Alabama game last year were not moments of excellence for Lundquist.
Which was kind of sad because he and Danielson did like 10 LSU games last year.

Don't leave out his 787,609,999 variations of Trindon Holliday.
My all time favorite though was when Jim Hawthorne called Laron Landry as "Ali Landry" one time...
So Jim, who is on your mind tonight?

LMAO. I can't believe LSU issued a formal response to the CBS schedule.
I guess I wasn't the only season ticket holder somewhat alarmed by the CBS schedule.
They must have fielded a plethora of complaints.

quote:bullshite. The LSU link even said something like "its entirely possible that each of those games IS on CBS". All the link said is its not in stone b/c contractually they can change mind or wait until 12 days before. Well if CBS prepared the list, I can guarantee you they thought long and hard about it and are selecting LSU for those games listed.

Even without the CBS release today, anyone can look at the SEC schedule and see exactly what games they are going to pick. Many weeks there is an obvious choice. LSU is the obvious choice the weeks of UGA and Bama games. THOSE GAMES WILL BE ON CBS. Get over it.

Actually, to be completely accurate, that isn't what the press release said.
It said "all, some or none" of those games might be on CBS.
But yes, it could be that all the games will be on CBS.
I still think it is interesting that they issued a formal response.

Does anyone know how much money CBS pays the SEC and LSU for the rights to broadcast games?

One thing that LSU fans may be disappointed in is the new CBS deal won’t mean more prime time regular season games. The network finally pulled the trigger on an LSU game in prime time last season with the Tigers vs. the Florida Gators. CBS was rewarded with a thrilling 28-24 LSU victory that kept the Tigers in the national championship hunt.
Prime-time games will remain a one-shot deal under the new contract. Sort of like the contract itself.
This is from the story in the advocate. This sucks beyond all comments. How the hell can you not show the SEC in primetime? Are they that scared of ESPN/ABC's primetime games? CBS royally sucks arse.

You are in fact the CBS CEO i reffered to in my other post.
Unless you work for them, I don't care what you have to say.
"In fact, all, some or none of those games may be televised by CBS this season. Generally speaking, other than the first three weeks of September, games are not chosen for television until 12 days before the game. One exception is LSU’s game at Arkansas on November 28 which will be televised by CBS at 1:30 p.m. Central time.
Other than that, the games that appear on CBSsports.com are only possible selections by CBS."
That is what the LSU response says exactly, not ""its entirely possible that each of those games IS on CBS"."
So, if you want to be that guy that kills all hope go right ahead, but I have a feeling you don't have any insider information.
Funny thing is the CBS info was removed, and LSU posted a response on an offical website... Not a post by a TD member...
Either way if you want to be the guy to end all hope go right ahead, your not going to hurt my feelings.

Jlsutiger gets very, very touchy for some reason when it comes to gametime and networks. I mean, you idiots...none of you have a brain to realize that CBS is going to carry our 2014 game with Florida!

You mean Trinoniden Holloway?
Am I the only one that will be surprised if the LSU/UF game is the primetime game? I know we're the last two champs, and last year's game got great ratings, but the UF/UGA game just seems like such a bigger game on a national scale this year.
I know the cocktail party is traditionally a day game, but that doesn't stop them from moving our traditional night games to the afternoon.
It just to me that everyone in the country would watch that UGA UF game. Unless they're thinking they'll both already be out of the title picture by then....

just wanted to highlight this because everyone seems to have forgotten it over the summer
I dont give a crap if LSU plays at 7 pm or 7 am. I remember the days of getting to watch one or maybe two LSU games each year on TV, and now we have 7 or 8 each year.
HAving our games on at 2:30 on CBS should be looked at as an honor. That is the "game of the week" time slot for CBS, and having petentially 3 or 4 games in that time slot shows just how far this program has come in the last 10 years.

As an out-of-stater I certainly welcome the increased number of games being televised. But I understand the ticket holders frustration at more games being televised during the day than a traditional Saturday night in Death Valley.
With successs comes additional exposure and recognition. If that means moving games from night to day I don't see the LSU administration saying no thanks. CBS & the SEC just extended the TV contract. As long as LSU continues to win at the pace we have the past 5 years I think Tiger fans are going to have to deal with the fact that more games are going to be played during the day.

+1
I'll add one other thing.... remember this year that ESPN still gets a few "first pick" weeks to pick their SEC game for primetime. If you believe tubby, one of those will be LSU-Auburn.

Why do you make up chit? LSU said nothing of the kind. Whatever was posted on the CBS site were potential matchups only. LSU has no say in the matter when it comes time for CBS to choose the game of the week.
