Didn't this year's bowl season prove the bias in SEC Officiating? Bama probably had more penalties in the last 2 games than they did all season.

Had there been SEC officials last nights game would have been closer for Bama, and the OU game would have been a blowout.

I was thinking the exact same thing. The $abama players looked shocked to be stepping off penalties AGAINST themselves!!!!

There are those that say we are stupid for thinking there is an Alabama bias......but, they are wrong. The bias is real.

And when they didn't they got killed. The fourth down play where the ran Tua to the shortside (left) it looked like a Clemson fire drill. I watched it a few times and Bama did not hold at all and there were 6 or 7 Clemson defenders in Bama's backfield before Tua started to run.

Some of the Bama players were probably asking what the yellow rags were that the refs were throwing around. They had seen them before but it was always for the other team so they never paid attention.

I have noticed much more competent and fair officiating when it's non-SEC refs.

It is not just the calls but the timing of the calls. Bama rarely ever sees a drive killer penalty. My bigger gripe though is that Bama never gets burned by the 50/50 calls or many critical calls are never called against them

Watching all of the playoff games revealed to me just how bad and inconsistent SEC officiating is, whether or not Bama is playing.

Think about how the game last night was officiated as compared to the Texas A&M game for instance.

And guess what? It will be EXACTLY the same next season. Nothing will be done about it, except complaining online and people being called wingnuts for believing it.

This is what I said last night and people down voted and posted 29-0 under my thread. I don't give a damn. The obvious is clear. No SEC refs equal a fair game and an arse whopping for Bama. I'm not saying they are not a good team but those drive killing calls and 50/50 calls have to stop.

With SEC officials bama averaged 5.4 penalties for 46.8 yards per game.

Without SEC officials bama averaged 7.5 penalties for 73 yards per game.

There is a difference.

This is correct. And the real hidden value in this is that they learn what will and won't be called against them over the course of the season and they play accordingly. Imagine how well you could play if you knew without a doubt that you would not be flagged for holding, PI or Unnecessary roughness.

at least they called it the same for both sides. we all know holding occurs on almost every play. but they don't call the inside stuff or the ticky-tack stuff, unless you happen to hit a big play against alabama. hell, SEC officials won't call the hard holding fouls against alabama when they make a big play.

What conference were the refs from in last year's NC game when UGA got arse raped in the second half to manufacture Bama's "comeback"?

When Clemson went up 2 touchdowns and had the ball again, I kept waiting for the drive killing holding penalty after a big completion.

But the best was the look on Nick's face when he challenged the Clemson completion on the sideline in the 4th quarter and the reception was upheld.

I also found it interested that he did not "work the refs" like he does SEC refs. Maybe he knew his players were out matched or maybe he knew he didn't have any leverage with neutral officials?

That's the thing that bugs me. Bama never gets that drive-killing penalty or the one that comes at a critical turning point in the game. LSU is always on the shite end of the stick when it comes to penalties at horrible times.

You mean prove again? Prove further?

I didn't need anymore proof, and I hope nobody else here did either.

Reading about all of the targeting penalties called during the 2nd half of games the week before the team would play Bama or the targeting calls during the 1st quarter of Bama games revealed to me how crooked the SEC refs are.

They pretty much elimated a team's best (including Devin White) or 2nd best player in every SEC game Bama played this year.
