The SEC federal lawsuit asks for a declaratory judgment declaring that they can “disassociate” from LSU due to LSU not abiding by SEC rules. If the federal court rules in favor of the SEC, expulsion is on the table.

The lawsuit has to survive motions to be dismissed, motions to be moved to LA and then actually litigated and won.

A ton of shite will happen before all of that happens. No one knows but it is either stand up now or be the whipping boy.

The SEC is going to have a hard time winning that case when its own commissioner can’t define what a professional athlete is and doesn’t read the updated NCAA rules manual.

Not that simple. Two courts generally aren’t supposed to issue conflicting orders telling the same parties to do opposite things. The Supreme Court has dealt with this exact type of problem and the basic rule is that you obey the order that’s currently in effect until it’s overturned—you don’t just pick the order you like better. So if Alabama tells the SEC it can punish LSU while the Louisiana injunction says the SEC cannot punish LSU, that’s going to create a serious jurisdictional fight. An Alabama ruling doesn’t automatically erase the Louisiana order.
