You look at the lineups Florida should win it every yr. They have ridiculous talent. Think the coach is very average.

They recruit at an elite level pretty consistently for sure

LSU had a good meet but when you are a couple tenths away from first every landing matters, we had too many landing issues.

Bars we didnt capitalized with Konnor and Courtney, beam had a couple dismount issues, floor they gave away landings and only stuck one vault.

Cumulatively that is a bit they left out there

Been that way most of the yr. Not sure how you can practice landings without hurting someone with repetition. Someone needs to spy on KJ and see. Later everybody!

Did Chio win all-around?

She did. I found it in the link in the OP.

Congrats to Kailyn.

Need to improve in vault to win it all. Three more meets. Regionals at LSU Semis and hopefully finals in Fort Worth

Glad Fla won over overscored ou. That floor judging was a travesty. Need better landings if we want a championship and preferably not end on vault.

All in all, we're still in a good spot, we just have to have better nights from here out. To think of all we had to replace after last season, I didn't know if we would have a legitimate chance this season.

In this new NIL/Portal era, what’s to stop a school from just taking the top 6-7 returning gymnasts in a given year. It’s not football, it wouldn’t take nearly as much to do so.

Gymnasts not really like that.

I have to admit that I’m no expert on judging, but this isn’t the first time I remember LSU being at a distinct disadvantage rotating to the apparatus with the tightest judging to close things out, while the judges on other events get swept up in the emotions of the moment and overscore other teams. Am I wrong to think that both UF and Oklahoma got as much as a 0.2 boost in their last rotation that LSU didn’t also receive?

And this is for the board also. Why wouldn’t we have Kaitlin anchor every event?

Seems like every year at Gym 101 we hear that the vault sticks will come as the season progresses, but here we are in post season once again without consistent sticks. Other than Chio of course!

Honest question, how much can the coach do? I mean, how does one coach get sticks from their gymnasts and others don’t? We joke about Kindler beating the girls if they don’t, but seriously, what is she doing that Jay, Jenny, etc aren’t?

Adding that if it is coaching, Jenny is doing a much better job this season. Florida is looking good!

Judging at this elite level with the margins so razor-thin is always going to be questionable. It’s a shame, but I really don’t see an alternative unless you want to speculate on going down the AI route.

OU is always criminally over scored though - LSU won that natty in 2016.

Too may misses on landings; Konnor has to work out that release move and to have a shot since I don’t think we can really compete with the scores on beam and bars with Florida we must must stick vault. Amari has got to stop being short on her passes.

OU and Florida barely missed on landings other than vault. Glad Chio was still able to nail hers.

I’m talking through the yrs. Florida is rolling now. No dought. As far as our landings I think I can remember 2 meets where we put it all together. I have no idea how to fix that I just see that as the problem we have to address if we want to win the championship. I think our gymnastics are fine.

Why a downvote for asking a legit question. I get it if I’m being a smartass. I don’t get the whole downvote thing.

I thought - from the preseason hype - that our biggest problem this year would be who makes the lineups. We had embarrassing riches of depth. Now it’s like who can be counted on for those 5th and 6th spots. Why aren’t Mustari and Brinkman making it into lineups? And what happened with Zoe Miller? I still think we have a shot at a natty, but we aren’t as stacked as I thought we were going to be.
