MLB veterans GIDP in untimely situations on a regular basis. It happens. Saying "wait for something you can drive" or "don't hit it on the ground" is easier said than done.

Bases loaded walks score a run 100% of the time. Sometimes a hitter can hit it hard, but right at the defense. This pitcher is wild, give him a chance to walk you. Is 2-1 not a good hitters count?
