here’s a conference champ auto-bid tracker. So far Holy Cross (Patriot League) and Columbia (Ivy League) are the first 2 teams with tickets punched to regionals.

Columbia has an RPI of 70, someone may be lucky to get them as a 3-seed in their regional if enough lower RPI teams win auto-bids where they land on a 3-seed line instead of a 4-seed.

ETA All 1 seeds are happy Yale lost. Jack Ohman would’ve been a tough ace to go against in a regional opener for whoever would’ve paired with them.

Are we going to make this an SEC tourney thread for tiger rant? Was thinking it'd be fun to have one to follow all the games here on tRant.

I don't too much care for dat sec rant.

When LSU takes the field Friday night there will only be four other teams still alive; five total, including LSU.

How are you doing JML? I see you're still working, even on an off day.

ETA DVH has been at Arkansas forever it feels like. I wouldn’t have guessed they were just a middle of the road SEC team all this time. No titles in program history either, they definitely lack postseason accolades.
I remember when he was at Nebraska, he got them going. He wasn't Skip level, but brought teams to the tourney.

as for Arkansas' history... remember they used to be in the SWC; every other school there was in Texas and would have good teams. TCU, Baylor, Rice, A&M, and of course Texas. They didn't join the SEC until 1990, same year as South Carolina.
Interesting- both Arkansas and South Carolina have 1 SEC tourney title, and Arkansas has 1 more win than SC. And let's not forget SC won the CWS twice, so they have good history.

North Alabama loses to Jacksonville, hurting our RPI a little bit.

Tulane beat FAU, which indirectly helps us because Tulane is prominent in our opponents opponents records, a quarter of the RPI formula.

If Tulane wins the AAC tourney no one wants them as a 4 seed
Their ace pitcher Lombardi is a really good pitcher and would force a 1 seed to throw their ace

Definitely can't argue with that. It's a great time of year.

I love that Mizzou is going to finish 3-0 against Aggy...and 0-28 against other SEC teams.

Nice snag with bases loaded & 1 out

Mizzou down to their last out, bases loaded

Least shocking post of the day:
Mizzou is 1st elimination of the SEC tourney

That was a really nice catch the 1b made a few mins ago. Without that it's probably 4-3 with only 1 out.
