Some things that stand out to me:

1) the overall awesomeness of Dylan Crews. His OB% is freakishly out of family.

2) Skenes ERA. Not only his but the next one behind him (Lindsey UTenn) are both outliers.

3) UF had three stabke starters from across the season. Don't recall the last time we had that. And probably one of the under-told facts about the CWS championship series is how poorly they did.

4) Jared Jones Ks is an immediate area for improvement.

How many total times did Crews reach base? The Tommy White batting almost .700 is so incredible because it happened what - 200 times?

He got 110 hits, drew 71 walks and was HBP 14 times. So that's 195 times right there. That's not including any times he may have been on base because of an error of fielders choice.

LSU was a great offensive team and that had a lot to do with their outings in the championship.

Changing his 2 strike approach alone could massively help with Ks.

I only care about the last month and an half and nothing more. LSU 2008, 2017, 2023 (tournament run) and Ole Miss 2022 prove this every single year. This is a grind and winners know that. It is about how well you’re playing down the stretch - period.

Honestly this might be my favorite stat of the entire list.

Gavin’s 33 HBPs tied for the most in all of NCAA.

Alex Milazzo hit .289 for the season. Broke his leg hustling to score a run and freaking was the boss at framing pitches. LSU won every game he started in Omaha and lost the 2 he didn’t. That is not a knock on Travinski at all. Just how it worked out.

Kid raised his BA 62 points this season yet all that happened was he was shite on by stats people on here because he isn’t a HR hitter.
Waiting for those assholes to eat crow and give him his due.

This should teach all of you that this game is still about pitching and defense. When you don’t you have blowouts no matter how well you hit.

Skenes only allowing 28 runs in 122.2 IP is mind blowing.

Try to avoid hyperbole right at the end of the season but I think this was the best team in school history and an am ready to debate it with anyone with a dissenting opinion

Up until this season, I had never seen anyone do what Peever did. Skenes stats were nearly identical except the Ks obviously.

Peever pitched 104.2 innings, anllowing only 23 runs on 67 hits and 20 walks, while striking out 116 batters.

Considering he gave up <2 per inning that’s almost identical. Dude was 14-0 and got knocked the hell out by a line drive off the head missing starts.

I know little dumbasses here CANT BELIEVE nobody could ever have a season like people now. I mean baseball didn’t start until 2000. I mean nobody ever could be a good player then let alone a guy that had an arm injury which stopped him from being in the big leagues.

I mean the players today are so much better like how they strike the frick out more today than ever.

What was Skenes WHIP?

I didn't see it on the stats.

It has to be great - even better than relievers.
