Les MIles did not get fired for one game or for one season.

This right here. I am so tired of hearing about the Florida loss being on Coach O.

We nearly doubled their yards, but unfortunately a few 19 year old kids made mistakes they don't normally make.

The first two cost us at least six points that we would have made.

The last one gave Florida a chip shot field goal for an extra three points.

Take away any one of those turnovers and there's a good chance we go to overtime at the very least.

There was nothing wrong with the coaching in that game. Go back and watch again if you have to.

So glad that CLM was fired before he had the misfortune of being fired after maybe-losing a future Florida game thus saving him from future embarrassment of being fired twice.

LSU should have beaten both teams and if we would have played them the way we played at the beginning of 2015 with pounding the ball in the running game instead of trying to establish the passing game as Les was told he had to do, LSU would have won both games and been 4-0.

Watch the Wisconsin tape. On 1st and 2nd down LSU ran I formation with two wides on all but 5 plays until the last drive. Idiocracy.

You are basing all of this off what you saw after coach O took over.

Other teams would have played us different, because we had no threat of any offense other then a run game.

Coaches would have game planned different.

DC would have called games different.

So your whole theory has a big hole in it.

But, if you would have read it you would have seen where I said that we would have blamed Les for that loss and said he should have had the players ready. He would have gotten fired for that team performance.

The loss was so inexplicably bad. We should have beaten Florida by 4-5 TDs.

C'mon man. People who understand football should not blame any coach for three mistakes made by 19-year-olds.

Other than those mistakes, LSU ran roughshod on Florida. We just couldn't cash in.

As for beating Florida by 4-5 touchdowns, I don't know what you put in your coffee, but you may want to ease back on it a bit. 4-5 touchdowns? Really?

That would have meant putting at least 40 on the Gators, something no other team did this season.

Miles wasn't fired because players fumbled. Miles was fired because it was obvious to anyone with one bad eye that he was disorganized, stubborn, and was continually making bad in-game decisions. The biggest criticism is that our offense was stagnant and predictable, even against clearly inferior teams.

Yes, the Florida loss was bad, but, again, it was NOT a failure of coaching that cost us that game.

I am NOT a Les supporter. I bailed on him a while ago. He needed to go. Without question. He had no ideas on how to fix things and could not develop a competent passing game.

My point is that the bottom fell out of some teams this year (Ole Miss, Arkansas) and Les would have gotten by with beating everyone but Alabama if he had played his style. It would not have been an answer, but stability was his forte.

MY POINT OVERALL is that we hired a coach who is no better than Les, might very well be worse, and lost to a horrible Florida team when he was auditioning for the job. We are screwed, in my opinion, not because we don't have Les, but because of who we replaced him with.

Now, I will support Orgeron and cheer for the Tigers. I'm just analyzing the situation and am trying to do so objectively.

Guice's fumble did not single handedly lose the Fla game.
FLa. loss= red zone coaching. I don't know how many red zone plays we had, but it must have exceeded 20. They outcoached us there and badly.

Gotcha. You're performing well for yourself. Keep it up!

The whole post was saying that Miles was a mess, should have been fired, but probably would have succeeded in a weakened West if he had not been trying to fix the problems from last year. It is all crazy, but I think it is true. Would that have fixed the problems overall? NO. This year would have been an aberration and would have bought Les several more years and we still would not win the division. So, I'm glad it all blew up.

Then, I shifted to an analysis of Coach O based on what we saw from earlier and surmised that he actually performed the same or even underperformed considering the talent he had and the coaches that were on the staff. The final outcomes of the post was that we made a mistake with the coaching hire based on the evidence that I saw this season.

IN short - just for you - I'm glad Les is gone. Any success he would have had this year doing things purely his way would have been a mirage. We did not upgrade considerably with Coach O. We should have. It will be seen as a missed opportunity.

O is supposed to be a great recruiter.
We are losing recruits

O is supposed to be a great motivator.
We lose to a 14 point underdog at home while they were missing tons of defensive starters.

As the season turned out, LSU would have won EVERY game with Les' philosophy being allowed to be fully implemented EXCEPT Alabama, where we would have gotten destroyed again.

you are forgetting the dysfunctional offense that Les put on the field. they couldn't get a play in, the QB and OL had no time to survey the D, the OL kept jumping and either the QB threw a bad pass or the WR dropped it.

if, MAGICALLY, the team would have corrected all the miscues on offense then, yes, we would have had the same record and MAYBE we would have beaten Florida. fact is, if we played florida ten times we would win 8 or 9 of them.

Les needed to be canned and Cam needed to go. it is unfortunate, imo that we couldn't attract a top proven coach and we wouldn't take an up and coming small school coach or coordinator. I don't know how coach O is going to do but I expect struggling to 8-4 records in the future.
