What do you mean fault finding? We're just reporting what's happened, and you haven't refuted any of it.
I'm very interested in what will happen this season but I'm not foolish enough to think that this head coach has turned a new leaf. He has tendencies that anyone can see if you've looked at his past actions.

I'm way more interested in what will happen in the '19 season. Sure looks like it will be an explosive offense to me.

quote:Well it's not much of a mission. The faults are pretty easy to find when the head coach keeps firing the guy HE brought in to modernize the offense. It's happened two years in a row now, and for year three he has placed his faith in a glorified NFL grad assistant.
You are on a fault-finding mission.

Looks like O&E wanted one also
So what was stopping them from implementing a short passing game two years ago?

or they wouldn't have brought in Brady.
Is E, the purported best OC available, incapable of incorporating "short" passing plays? You do realize that "short" passes aren't just for the shite of it but part of a larger offensive philosophy taking advantage of matchups and space? I'm not sure O does.

Maybe you could reduce it all to a Civil Complaint and sue O for the cost of your tickets. Good luck with that.

This whole approach to creating an offense is disjointed and haphazard, which is this HC's MO.
You need look no further than his own quotes. He has no offensive identity, much less an idea of what it should be. They’re going to be running the Saints offense and that of Miami (from the 90s), USC (from the early aughts) and Penn State (lol). They’re going to run the spread with RPO but also a power run game.

I sort of agree
But I think E has an idea of what he wants the offense to be.
I just don’t think he really knew how to get there, and neither did anyone on the staff last year.
I think Brady sorta brings that knowhow.

I kind of want to believe this is the case. But why does a guy who has been coaching offense in some capacity since the early 80s need to lean on a guy who just 5 years ago was coaching linebackers at William & Mary in order to establish a short-mid range passing game?

What if it works?

If it works I will be very surprised. I guess we will cross that bridge if and when we come to it.

See I just don't get that.
I feel that this head coach makes things way harder than they have to be. He hires a guy and then says we're going to create an offense from scratch. No one has that kind of time, least of all him. But that's what he did.
What's so difficult about hring a guy to do what he does best? You don't like what he does best, don't freaking hire him.

That’s what happens when a coach values loyalty and ability to be controlled over talent.

The '19 season is comin right up, and your sad act is about to crash.

I'm glad you've finally admitted you're a Ree alter. What a relief it must be for you.

Which offenses in LSU history worked and which didn't?
Posted on 6/12/19 at 10:47 am to RogerTheShrubber
If it finishes in the top 40 in terms of total offense and scoring offense, it will have worked.
Posted on 6/12/19 at 10:48 am to Buckeye Jeaux
I'll be the first to admit the '19 season is shaping up to be a good one. The offense will be improved from last year. But as I said earlier, that will have more to do with player progression and familiarity than what Brady brings in.
