No. Wrong again for the 50th time.

But I'm beginning to think you guy's are alters for Jimbo's agent. What's his name? Jimmy somethin'?

I don’t think O can really articulate what’s going on.

But look at what E said when he was hired

He wanted fast hitting RPOs.

And he tried to get there but he hasn’t really ever experienced that.

Brady I think Is the best possible hire for a OC in waiting situation (which to be fair maybe isn’t ideal but it is what we have)

He is young enough to agree to that arrangement.

He was a GA under Mooorehead at Penn State who not only ran an RPO offense like the one we want but also helped to heavily develop it.

Out of the entire staff he’s probably the first hire we made with any kind of experience in that offense.

He went from William and Mary to an Offensive Assistant for the Saints in like a 4 year span.

Also I think the very basic premise of this thread is off. It’s build on like the 4th thing Payton said about him after he rattled off three very great compliments and ended with “he’s a great guy to have on staff”

The offense will be improved from last year. But as I said earlier, that will have more to do with player progression and familiarity than what Brady brings in.

I won't pretend to know what level of impact Brady will have. But I agree that the offense basically HAS to improve simply by virtue of us returning essentially every single player from last year. Exactly how much it improves is something we obviously wont know until this fall. One area that has to make huge strides for the offense to take an appreciable step forward is in the red zone. At times, I liked a lot of what I saw between the 20s from our offense last year. We seemed to consistently shite our pants when we got in the red zone.

Pro tip: Short quick passes are far easier to complete than long slow-developing passes.

Ok maybe you are actually an OSU fan, because any LSU fan knows we’ve had more QBs that cannot execute these short and quick throws that are so much “easier” than those that have been able to do so consistently.

Now I don’t think Burrow falls into that category. But just throwing out “pro tips” saying shorter throws are “easier” without recognizing the timing, accuracy, and touch that go into that type of system, not to mention the protections needed to avoid tipped passes, as well as the challenges it presents to being able to establish a power running game, which O also claims to want, is so simplistic it isn’t even worth responding to.

Well hopefully in an RPO those guys are getting washed out downfield and are playing the run.

Plus you can run inside zone off as the run element of RPOs.

This isn't Madden football. You don't just click a box to launch a passing game. Particularly when you're doing it in a program that has been ground & pound for about a century.

Orgeron appears to be making all the right moves toward a solid passing game. There's been some trial and error in even the best of passing programs.

I wonder what you'll bitch about when this offense lights it up this Fall. I'm sure you'll find something

You're talking to a guy that once argued that you can install an offense in 3 days. You can forget getting him to see anything.

Which offenses in LSU history worked and which didn't?

The ones where we played in the SEC championships and NCs worked.

I see no scenario in which the offense is great and we don't go 11-1. With this schedule, something will have had to have gone wrong to not get there, and I doubt it'll be the defense.

you can't run the Saints offense without Brees. The decision making and ability to flip a ball through tight windows can't be taught to just anybody.

Well, yeah if it’s done correctly, that’s the idea.

Just don’t think “easy” accurately describes implementing that system.

I didn't say it. Dana Holgerson said it.

As he is a coach and you're not, I think you should defer to his wisdom.

Is that it?

2006 didn't "work?" 2103?

I find it hard to believe only two in the history of the programmed were good enough.

Got a link to that?

Just googled it. He's full of shite. The coaches may be able to spill out their playbook, but the players have to deal with the coaches X & O wet dreams. Crock of shite.

Took all of two seconds to Google

Dana Holgorsen, West Virginia’s new offensive coordinator and head coach in waiting, has frequently said that his entire record breaking offense can be installed “in three days.”

The x's and O's are a piece of cake. The timing and execution takes 6 months to a year.
