Struggled? Struggled? Hell we would've won the game if all he did was struggle!

They weren't even as good as our own 2 national championship teams

idk about that. I don't remember all that much from 03. but 07 the offense was better but the defense gave up some yards.

They didnt win the game that mattered, where do you want them to be ranked? Ahead of National Championship teams?

Yes. And I hate this reasoning.

What if they had lost the regular season game vs Bama then win the title game rematch? We'd have a weaker resume because we lose the sec east win.
No one has a resume like that 2011 team. And the poll is for best team, not best team to win a title.

LSU'S 2003 squad was 2011 alabama with better skill at wr. Bama probably a bit better at rb.

that team was incredible.

Well UA did win the '11 & '12 title. Not to mention they were one game away from being in CFB playoff. I'd say they deserve to be mentioned in the top 5 multiple times.

So what? We beat every team we played against the hardest schedule in the history of our program.

That 2011 bama team didn't even win the sec.

Quarterback Jordan Jefferson, steady throughout up to that point, struggled against the nation’s most well-prepared defense

What the frick? They obviously never watched Jefferson play before that game.

I'm sorry. Jefferson played terrible in the Arkansas and Georgia games. I remember him fumble at least one snap against Arkansas, and later tossing a ball to an Arkansas linebacker, who fortunately dropped it. He "completed" the same pass, unfortunately, against Bama several weeks later.

2012 Bama? Seriously? They lost to A&M in Tuscaloosa. Beat ND for the title when ND had no business being there. Only good win was vs sec east champ. 2012 Bama benefitted from BCS rules just like 2014 Bama would have if BCS were still in place.

2011 was a special season, regardless of how it ended. Comparing teams year to year is strictly opinion, but when you take the facts of what was accomplished by each team each year, no resume on that list will top what was compiled by LSU in 2011, title or not. Just a shame they beat Bama at the wrong time.
