No, that's not what he's saying. If you touch it and then recover it, you're already down. If you touch it and Devin White ultimately picks it up, he's not down.
That's definitely not true. Pretty sure you meant to say that you have possession, then lose and recover it.

I guess that makes sense. But why?
Just like if you're out of bounds and the ball is thrown to you, you must establish yourself in bounds before you can touch it. If you're on the ground when you touch the fumble, you must essentially reestablish yourself off the ground and then re-grab the football.
Where you are when you touch the football matters alot in CFB, not just on this play. Possession isn't the only thing that matters

I see bad snaps all the time where offensive linemen are on the ground touching / moving the ball, only for it to be recovered by the defense. Right? Or am I thinnking NFL?
Good question. I'm not sure if the rule is different in college, but I thought a player had to possess it and not just touch it with a knee down for the play to be over. idk.

You call that possession?

Dude he fumbled the snap, at point it's a life ball...
you have to have to possession

The ball wasn't dead for everyone when he touched it, it was simply down for him if he ultimately gains possession.

I will wait for the next fumble to see is this is true.
quote:
By rule once you touch the ball while the ball is on the ground if your knee is also on the ground its considered dead at that point.

I don't get it then. Doesn't that mean that the first person that touches a normal fumple while on the ground gets the ball?

So a player that fumbles the ball merely has to touch it while down to have the play blown dead?
Cite the rule.
Cite the rule.

No, I mean if you touch it and never lose touch with it, you're down. If you touch it, but don't completely possess it, it's still live for everyone else.

For frick's sake, no one is saying that. Use your brain people.

No, that's just a shitty explanation in the OP. The fact is that Mond touched the ball while on the ground and never lost touch of it while gaining possession from that point, therefore, he's down.

Where’s aTm’s RB illegal motionbefore he broke off run for 15+ and half of our D saw it and were pointing it out?
It sucks, but play the damn game. It seemed like the entire defense just pointed at the running back and looked at the officials. Well no flag and big play.

This is one of the worst posts in TD history trying to be "that guy" who's too cool to disagree with the officials and the outcome.
1. On the 4th and 18, The given spot after he was down was a first down, but the problem is you are showing his position after he rolled toward the first down. He was short by a FULL YARD when he initially was down!!!
2. On the overruled INT, How can you overrule the call on the field of interception when there is really no way to know the exact moment when he has possession other than when he lifts the ball off of the ground at which point his knee was back up. It's the rule that requires irrefutable evidence, and that overrule didn't meet that standard.
3. The one second left was unfortunately accurate, however the clock operator was favorable to aggie (home field advantage is real and thats ok).
4. The MOST egregious miss was the TE fumble that wasn't even reviewed!!!

You're a fool. That screen capture is after he moved the ball to his body. He caught it and was down before the 41.
Look at the yard lines. The yellow line was wrong. He needed to get to the 43.

That's what I said as soon as the guy got the handoff and the DE was still pointing.

That's fine, but he was down before the 43 unless they let players momentum log roll for field position.

This wasn’t first time that Nind has picked up a ball of the ground , he knows that he will be down if knee touches that’s why he picks UP the ball as his knee is no longer on turf.
Think about it , me and you can’t do that it he’s been playing football as QB forever probably.
He knew he what he was doing and wanted the play to be successful.
Call on field was INT , no way should this play gotten reverse from the replay

Ahh, I see. My apologies. I thought he needed to get to the 41.

And that's the question...did he have full control of the ball while his knee was still down? Guess the officials thought so.
