I was at the 79 USC game, and I was not at last Sat. game (watched on TV), but sounded like Bama game was the most epic game ever in TS. In 79, there weren't as many people. I could not hear myself talk or think, so I know it must have been even better in the Bama game. This will be one for the ages for you guys in the stadium. Great job representing LSU and the Tiger Stadium experience!
Hey Tomball Tiger, I was at the 79 USC game AND at the game Saturday night. Two peas in a pod. Very similar atmosphere, noise level and game conclusion.

BTW TT, I came right through Magnolia last weekend coming and going from the Texas Renaissance Festival. Do it every year. There's a great little Mexican restaurant there in Magnolia on 1488 and of course I can't miss my chicken fried steak at Goodson's in Tomball.

The further we get away from the loss on Saturday night, the more I come to realize that winning or losing that game really didn't matter all that much. I'm not saying it was a moral victory by any means, I'm saying that Saturday was more than a game. Nobody gave LSU a chance and we shut people up and the fans absolutely loved it. Everything good about LSU was on display, I don't see how any recruit wouldn't want to play here.

I'm starting to feel this way.

Awesome.

Glad there's an audio link. I think some of that could end up on a mystique of Tiger Stadium video in the future.

SVP was already beloved here, now this

I agree next year we will be very hard to beat. Think of all the young players on that field that went toe to toe wth the so called best team in the country pushed their asses all over the field. If not for that stupid arse late hit when we got down near the goal line; i have to believe we win that game.
Look out next year can,t wait!!!!

Grantland Rice could not have done this any better. What a description of a sporting event.

The loss isnt stinging as much today. I just remember how much fun i was having and how great it felt to sing calling baton rouge and neck and the fightsong and cheer on our team and see the look on some bama fans near sitting right next to me at the Varsity when LSU was rolling in the second half. They had that oh shite look like why did we think this game would be easy, these people are nuts! I remember hugging complete strangers on the 37 yard pass and the TD pass, jumping up and down. I wouldnt trade places with any other sports fans. Because you guys are the only entire fanbase that can match my passion for our beloved tigers!

And it wouldn't be quite the same without Les either

Spencer Hall comes close - here's the recount of his trip to the UF game in 2007: LINK

SVP referenced it on his show several times.

God bless him. As I stated to many, I was never more proud of this football team in a loss, than I was after this game. Don't get me wrong, I wanted victory, but I saw effort from everyone. THIS team was the football team some of us were so frustrated with and knew had the potential. This night, we saw what this Damn Strong Football team is capable of. God, I love LSU.
