You won’t win many SEC series especially on the road only scoring 7 runs in three games. That’s pathetic. Need to stop messing with the lineup so much and just stick with something. No one can get into a groove. Two examples are Josh Pearson goes 3-3 then you sit him the next game. Hernandez is raking then you PH. Sometimes you got to roll with the hot hand regardless of matchups.

This team seriously lacks power. Jones is the only one with double digit HRs, while last year's team had at least four in double digits.

Home/Road offensive splits are ridiculous:

Mizzou - 29 Runs
@Texas - 17 Runs
MSU - 27 Runs
@OU - 15 runs
@ AU- 8 Runs
Bama - 19 Runs
Tenn - 21 Runs
@aTm - 7 runs

People are chalking @USC up as a series win/sweep, but it is not a guarantee with how LSU has been on the road.

In our last 12 conference games, we are averaging only 4.6 runs per game. We have gone 5-7 in those games, and in the 7 losses, we are only averaging 2.6 runs per game. Our pitching has has its ups and downs, but it is the hitting that is really letting this team down.

How bout Hernandez with a Homer today but let’s pinch hit in the ninth because of a certain pitcher.

Overcoaching is not always good coaching

And is only hitting .252 in the SEC. Sounds like a good candidate for leadoff if you ask me!

The hitting approach is wrong. Only Jones has consistent home run power, but they keep swinging for the fences.

the sample will always include Auburn. even though that was almost a month ago

Although the hitting problems started at Ou

people won’t include those games because we won them.

I didn’t realize this but Brown is tied for 3rd on our team (with Milam) with 17 RBI in conference play. Frey and Pearson have a combined 14 in SEC play.

What will it take for him to let Brown stay in the line up and continue to get reps, especially when you are struggling to score runs in SEC play?

I get Pearson had a great first game yesterday but he is still a .250 hitter in conference and you are taking the bat out of one of our best run producers hands.

How does it help a young guy like Brown if he can never consistently stay in the lineup?

Actually, I think it's time to sit Stanfield and put Brown, Curiel and Pearson in the outfield. At least there's a chance they could hit it out.

Doesn’t matter, we’re in excellent position to finish 19 & 11 and as a national seed. Who gives a shite about 2 close losses at A&M.

Honestly the bats were pretty much what let us down last year in the CH regional, esp the championship game. Very un Jay like back to back years.

He was top 5 in BA in SEC play less than two weeks ago. Yes, his bat has gotten cold. But he's earned his spot as an everyday player.

Yes, we have way too many hitters trying to hit it out of the park, which is why we are seeing so many fly outs. Outside of Jones, none of the rest of the lineup has proven they can run it out of the park consistently. I don’t know if they are all trying to be a hero, or if they are going to the plate trying to execute what they are being told to do, but we need more guys who are willing to just put the ball in play.
