No, Highland Park, Malibu, Beverly Hills, Charleston, Buckhead, Manhattan, etc. "have" money. Covington is no different than people who live in certain areas in Baton Rouge. He's going pro.

I hope he comes back but don't see how he can improve his draft position anymore than he has.
I don't think he's coming back, but I do think he could improve his draft position. It all depends on how much money he's being offered.

His house in Covington is two down from my grandparents' house. It's not anything too flashy. I'm sure they'd love the money.

I spoke to Ryan and his mother briefly in the hotel lobby at the CWS on an off day and he seemed pretty definite that he was playing his last season at LSU. Something could have changed his mind, of course.

Jared Mitchell is also going to graduate, but will take classes correspondence and during his off season with the sox. Just sayin.

5th round guys are signing for bonuses of $125-150k. I didn't even play baseball and I wouldn't have given up my senior year at LSU for $150k.

call me crazy, but i really don't want schimpf to come back. sure, i'd love to have him play for us in 2010, but i don't want him to jeopardize his career in doing so. he can always come back to graduate like many others before him, but if he turns down a 5th round offer this year, his signing bonus would be next to nothing next year even if he gets drafted higher as seniors have little to no bargaining power, especially if you can't drastically improve your draft status.

He's outta here, family not happy with him getting moved around the field plus when PM talked to the media he always mentioned Coleman and Dean and rarely gave Schimpf credit.

Anyone with clue knows the moves from 2B to LF to 1B helped his draft stock a lot more than it hurt.

If you read the article about the team the other day, Mainieri was quoted as saying it would be hard to replace guys like Ochinko, Lemahieu, Mitchell, and Schimpf. So, I'm guessing this report is false, I'd love for Ryno to come back, but unless contract talks broke down within the last day or so, this isn't happening.
