Scenario: Arky to Cotton - LSU to Outback?

If SC upsets AU tomorrow, Arky would likely get the Cotton. SC gets the Sugar. AU goes to some other BCS bowl like Fiesta or Orange as an at large and Bammer still gets the cap 1 since Bammer and Arky finished within 1 game and they beat Arky.

Cotton Bowl chair already said LSU gets Cotton Bowl bid over any other team...period, including Arky.

Cotton won't invite Arkansas. A&M played Arkansas--in Dallas--earlier in the season.

Tigers go to the Cotton in every case except if Cap One would choose them

Cotton Bowl officials informed LSU athletic director Joe Alleva and the Southeastern Conference office on Thursday that they will select the Tigers for their bowl if LSU is still available after the selection by the Capital One Bowl, which picks one spot before the Cotton Bowl on Sunday and gets first crack at SEC teams after the Bowl Championship Series bowls.
"I can tell you that we have talked with LSU athletic director Joe Alleva, and we have communicated to him and also to the Southeastern Conference office that LSU is our No. 1 choice," Cotton Bowl chairman Tommy Bain said in a phone interview Thursday night.
"We have said that we will take LSU when it comes to our turn to pick, no matter who else is on the table," Bain said. "We will choose LSU if they're available. So we've communicated that to both parties."
The Jan. 1 Capital One Bowl, however, has a reputation for always picking the highest ranked team possible with the better record, and that would be BCS No. 10 LSU. Alabama, which lost to LSU 24-21 in Baton Rouge on Nov. 6, is No. 16 in the BCS. The Capital One Bowl, though, just had LSU last season and also in the 2004 season. And the Orlando, Fla., bowl has shown a lot of interest in the defending national champion Crimson Tide as it has never played in the Capital One Bowl. Alabama last played in Orlando on Jan. 2, 1995 in the Citrus Bowl, beating Ohio State 24-17.
"The Capital One Bowl could still take LSU," Bain said. "They have that option. It seems to me though, based on the communications we've had, that they're looking at Alabama. But that's one you never know until you make the decision."

WWL radio has someone on a few hours ago saying if Carolina wins the SEC, Arkansas goes to the Cap One and then no one knows.

They say Arky doesn't travel well to close places, how well would they travel to Orlandeaux? God that mus be 15+ hours from Fayethell. Not saying they wouldn't pick them, but yikes

That's correct. They are already placing pleas in newspaper and radio and web to try and get their fan base to show up so they will get invited to quality bowls.

Maybe so, but I think Arky fans are excited this year and will travel well to either Sugar or Cap1...although I'm sure it would be a huge disappointment at this point if USC wins and they go to Cap1.

no way Capital One takes Bama over Arky if they are both available

If AR doesn't go to the Sugar the whole nation will hear the air going out of their balloon. I don't think they'd travel that well to Orlando considering the hype for Sugar.
Oh, Go GameCocks!!

That is true. Arkansas will be very disappointed if they don't go to the Sugar bowl.

We've played in the Cap One twice and our crowd there was OK but not great. But I agree that we'd be very disappointed if Auburn chokes us out of the Sugar bid.

why? they would be within 1 win and Bama won head to head. if anything I say they take Bama over Arky before they take LSU over Arky since LSU beat Bama.
Looks like we would have to go to Dallas anyway. No matter how people on here "pump up" the Cotton it isn't what it used to be. That is why people don't get too excited playing in it. Joe Alleva is a douche and doesn't know ANYTHING about bowls since he is from a Basketball school. Those crummy schools on the east coast would love to play in the toilet bowl if they had a chance.

Yea kind of like they beat them handily when they played earlier in the year?
