So, a one loss SEC champ had no line in on the game? I beg to differ. We'd beat out any conference champ with one loss.
Yes. That's the point. Are you drunk, or just very confused?

The point is that now there will be at least one other "conference champ" with a loss that a 1-loss SEC Champ (like LSU) can beat out for a shot at the National Championship.

Before last night, it was entirely possible that SC and (for example) OU could have gone undefeated and left any 1 loss SEC Champ (like LSU) out of the Championship Game.

Or any undefeated SEC team, look at Auburn in 2004.

think the SEC champ would want to play an undefeated USC team.

What happens in the SEC matters. What happens in, wherever that game was last night, does not.
But SEC teams playing teams out of the SC still counts, right?

So wouldn't you want to see a 1 loss, SEC Champion LSU team playing against an undefeated OU team for the National Championship? Well, now that's a possibility. Without an SC loss, it was not a possibility. How can you not get that this directly impacts the SEC and LSU?

I can't believe an idiot calls himself an LSU fan who can't grasp why people are happy about things that directly improve LSU's chances of winning a national championship.

Because we STILL play three top ten teams. We have a huge, huge season ahead of us, even to make it back to Atlanta. The USC loss MAY affect our bowl game. To me, our season is what happens inside the SEC. If we post an SEC West banner in the stadium that is awesome. An SEC title would be epic. Back to back SEC titles would be the best thing that's ever happened to LSU. Talking about bowl games right now is just blowing wind. I'll give it to you though, the loss MAY help a one loss SEC champion.

Tiger fans need to care about us winning our way into the NC game instead of cheering for other teams to lose to put us in.
It is impossible for us to get into the National Championship Game without other teams ahead of us losing rankings. Our winning is not a single controlling factor to the process. That being the case, only the stupidest of retards would hold an interest in LSU winning the national championship and ignore everything outside of LSU's games. This is not the NFL, or High School, where winning out automatically guarantees you the championship. Other factors must also occur. Having an interest in those factors occurring simply reflects an informed interest in the success of LSU.

If you cheered for USC or OrSt you should be banned.
If you are really an LSU fan and you honestly believe that, you should be sterilized.

I went to LSU for 8 years, starting in 1992. I went to every game possible in those years. If I'm an idiot for having an opinion, so be it. We are 3 games into the season, 3. We lost to two average teams last year. WTF is wrong with you rantards? Have to call everyone names when you know nothing about those people. I guarantee I accomplished more at LSU than you did, all the while attending every game.

I bet you cheered last night.
Well, if he's an LSU fan with half a brain, then he obviously cheered last night. Only total morons or people who aren't fans of LSU (or any other college football team besides SC) would not have reason to cheer last night.

In fact, the ONLY people who wouldn't have been cheering last night would be the SC fans. So, obviously, you and Gaston are simply rabid Trojan fans lurking in disguise on an LSU board to vent your frustrations about your overhyped team blowing it against another unranked underdog again.

Go away, W, you useless Pac 10 Trojan fan.

Hang in there . . . I'm sure graduation is only 2 or 3 more years away . . .

That's the point of this thread.
Then why did you insist (wildly incorrectly) that the SC loss last night was of no consequence to our season? That's the only part that has people calling you an idiot (and worse). And it is because it is a pretty stupid argument to make.

quote:

I think the goal of our season is getting to the SEC championship game.
Why would you think that our team has only one goal for a season? You don't think they'd like to play well? Win every game? Win a bowl game? Have success in the classroom?

Teams (at least LSU teams) set several goals in a year. Fans also have goals they would like to see their teams reach. Often, both sets of goals include a National Championship. And whether you can grasp the reality or not, last night's game served to significantly improve the chances of our team reaching the goal of winning a National Championship.

Nice thread... 5 pages to conclude that user Gaston does not care about USC's loss last night...

So why not be happy about it?

Did you cheer when we beat Auburn? Was it stupid for me to cheer when we beat Auburn? According to you it must have been because there are still a bunch of games left to decide whether we win the SEC West or the SEC, right? So that means it was stupid to be happy that we beat Auburn?

Talking about bowl games right now is just blowing wind.
How is it any more "blowing wind" than talking about SEC West or SEC Championships? None of them (the bowl game, National Championship, SEC Championship or SEC West Championship) have been decided yet, nor will any of them be decided for several more weeks. Does that mean it is "stupid" for LSU fans to be happy about events that help our progress towards those championships?

Peace. I'm glad we have such a challenging schedule, and I'm glad our team has so much talent on it. I see we can compete with anyone, and our goals should be to come out on top.

My OPINION is that the USC loss will have no impact to our season, bowl game included. I may be wrong, I may be a douche, I may be an idiot. Everyone has an opinion, and that's what this board is for. If we lose one game, and avenge that loss in the SEC CG, and there is one other no loss team, I WAS WRONG. We'll find out in 4 months.

What could this possibly have to do with a discussion of whether or not SC losing last night helps LSU's chances of winning a National Championship, or with the even more ridiculous assertion that LSU fans should not care about LSU's chances of winning a National Championship?

I would much rather see Florida, Gorgia, or Alabama win a NC than USC, tOSU, Oklahomo, or any other ooc team, because it makes our conference look that much better.

Self-proclaimed king:

I'm glad you cheered for OrSt last night.

I know I didn't. I didn't pull for either team because they are inferior to LSU and the SEC.

Keep your PAC-10 wet beaver dreams to yourself.
