Scalping SR tickets

My mom is coming in from out of town and wants to go to the game.
I see all the threads about how fast tickets are going from LSU and how expensive they are from Stubhub.
Surely we'll be able to scalp some, right?

Did something change with how this term is used? I though scalping was what the person who was selling the tickets was doing when they were charging more than face.
It never used to mean someone buying tickets.

I always called it scalping when I bought from random people outside of the events. Maybe it is just the sellers.

I have always bought tickets outside the box. I also walked around tailgates to see if anybody has extras. Last weekend we paid 7.00 per ticket.

Yes...there has never EVER been an LSU sporting event ive needed tickets for and could not find outside for a reasonable price. The key is to be patient and not cave to the "It's an hour till first pitch" pressure.

I'll share the same story. I've been to every huge game at the box within the past 10 years and I've gotten good/great seating for damn near face on game day, whether it be online or a guy on a bike out front. Let the demand settle and you will be ok.
ETA: patience is the difference between paying $200 now for a ticket you can get for $20 on game day

That's a very good point. LSU says they don't want tickets sold for a higher price than whats printed on the ticket. However, they encourage you to go to stubhub who will rap you and every female in your family..kinda calling the kettle black if you ask me.

And you know what? Good for them. Because it's the stupidity of people who pay retarded amounts of money for tickets that drives them to do what they do. The scalpers hustle their asses off to buy extra tickets for face from OUR fans and they resell them to our IDIOT FANS for 5 times what they are worth, and there is actually an IDIOT FANBASE who buys them from them.

I don't think you understand the terminology..i.e. "scalping" is the act of SELLING, an often expensive ticket ! Thus, the BUYER, is the one getting "scalped"...that's where the word/act comes from.

If everyone had to pay those prices, the stadium would be empty. How about, if you don't plan on going, don't buy them. Let other people get a shot at it that will use the ticket, not sell it.
