he's a lot better than many of his predecessors, most all of them tend to over talk, over analyze, and they all seem to have an amazing grasp for the obvious

7/10, not bad. he seems to point out the obvious sometimes though.

John Madden made a TV career of it.

I want him to do well, but I really don't like listening to him doing color. He's great when he's just in on a discussion but I don't enjoy his commentating in games.

During the Saints game last week he said that when Taysom Hill was in at TE, he was too predictable and that he would either block or run a route... What the hell else are you supposed to do at TE??

I believe if his partner was a little better at what he did, Booger would do better. Don't like the match up in the booth now.

Very knowledgeable. A little too country sounding for most. He has as much knowledge as a color guy as does Aikman but not as much as Tony Romo (That guy knows the plays ahead of time often).

Solid 8 for Booger.

There is always an announcer that has to resonate with the 'average fan' and I think he's fabulous there. When assigned, we've also seen him provide a 'next level' of insight, which is also pretty cool.

Without being a Homer, he's also mentioning LSU more. I'd give him a solid 9.

He is one of our own.

Won’t say a bad word unless he commits a crime or embarrasses the hell out of us. To my knowledge he hasn’t done either.

I say a 4. I like his insight and he really knows football, but the delivery is meh. He sounds boorish and it takes away from the actual information. People will state that he is saying the obvious, but there is a lot of nuance there. The delivery kills it.

Can he get better? Of course he can and he probably will.

He talks too much and tends to repeat himself. If he can get that "less is more" from a color guy, he will do well. I think he just needs to become more comfortable in this role and he will excel in it, as well.

He's a great football commentator, but MNF is at least 50% entertainment. It hasn't been the same without Madden and the horse trailer.

7.5 but needs to better pick his spots when to inject a point.

I think his biggest problem is he is really excited about what he sees before the play (and I appreciate that), but it doesn’t translate well because when something exciting happens, he can’t really go higher in exuberance. It numbs the viewer to it, especially when paired with Tessitore
