Tolliver and Jackson both struggled last year. Seems like Smith along with Fulton would have a great shot at playing next year.

You mean what saban has been doing ever since he was with LSU. I think Coach O hired a pretty good O coordinator. I think he will hire good coaches when he needs them. I do like the ones he fired already

Herman seems to be finding his footing recruiting wise, not too fair to judge based on last year. Irrelevant really since he wasn't an option.

The search was a sham but I've accepted it.

As for this news, with our continuous DB hauls it's actually odd we don't have more attrition.

Herman arrived at a good time in texas. Texas has a big recruiting base. With Texas A&M down and TCU/Baylor slipping the kids will head back to Texas. I like where we stand in recruiting in Texas right now also. I think we will still be able to pull a few dimes out of Texas every year though egen with Herman there.

Coach O better pull off a 10-2 or 11-1 season. He needs to prove he's better than Les and he's 7-2 so far, with only one real challenge when he took over andbhe still managed to lose 2.

If I'm Joe Alleva I have a very short leash for this guy.

Nothing. Competition at DBU is tough.

I believe as long as Texas boosters try to make the decisions, they will struggle keeping coaches which will in turn hurt recruiting. Chizik said while he was there he was never sure who he had to answer to; Mack brown, the AD, or the boosters.

Him being the worst hire on paper isn't even debatable. Now he might surprise everyone and tear shite up but on paper he was a horrendous hire.

Yep I think the brass listens to the big money boosters a little too much in Austin. Let's hope this doesn't change anything anytime soon. The only thing Herman maybe kissing in a few years is his arse goodbye.

We're extremely thin at tackle. We need to target some juco guys at tackle.

Kids transfer. Kids fail out. Kids get homesick. Kids get into trouble. Kids get passed up. Some kids don't develop. Some kids weren't as good as their star rating. some kids are impatient. Some kids don't have work ethic. It's football. You sign players to develop depth. Depth overcomes attrition. He's not the first and won't be the last. Some of y'all act like you just started following college football. We're deep at DB and this opens another spot and gives a greater window of opportunity for recruits to consider. I know some people on here hope this leads to a poor secondary, a demise in the program and a subsequent firing of Orgeron just to say "I told you so". Jesus, let the guy have the benefit of the doubt and run his program. Wins and losses will be the final assessment. F IT! GEAUX TIGERS !

Damn. I liked his ability to tackle in open space. I figured he would take over the nickle spot or at least see significant time there this year.
