I agree and I was proud of the student section. It was not about going tear stuff up, it was pure joy and elation. I thought it was one of the most spontaneous outpouring of emotions based on the events that had just unfolded that I ever witnessed. Me and my wife sat back down in our seats, as did several others people around us, and just cheered and admired the beautiful spectacle before us.

By your calculation, you're 19. Well done! You have a gift for writing and expression. Please 1. use paragraphs, and, 2. do NOT stop writing You're good, you have a nice memory and the ability to articulate a lot of maturity for your remembrances of your youth, and to do so with such clarity.

Have an upvote, and if I could give another, I would.

Great post. You said it well. Hope you/we get the same feeling in the Bama game! And in every game next year.

I couldn't have put it better myself!

It will go down as one of my greatest experiences in Tiger Stadium.

I drove in from San Antonio to go to the game with my dad. I had an aquintance back out on his deal with me to buy his two 100 level tickets the MORNING OF THE GAME (I was BEYOND pissed). My dad said he still wanted to go and maybe we could find a good deal from someone selling tickets outside of the stadium. We found tickets in 412 for $90.

As he gets older, I've begun to really cherish watching LSU football games with my dad. I am beyond grateful that I was able to experience this game live with him. I'm sure many other Tiger fans can echo these exact sentiments. It truly was a game that brought us all back down to earth and just enjoy a Tiger victory.

A couple things:

1- if you think that was a hard fought game, you didn't attend the 4 4th downs UF game or any of the Bama or Auburn games the last few years. Ole Miss was dominated and without the turnovers it's a 28-10 game maybe. Kudos to Ole Miss for a hard fought 3rd quarter maybe.

2- I was cool with the rush. It didn't appear so much a rush on TV as a let's get down there and party.

3- Considering this team is chock full of freshman and the season was on the brink of 4-7, I think the emotion was true and cool. Was glad to see it.. mainly for these young players because they have worked their tail off and can be something special.

agreed. Was thinking the same thing. Very nature and articulate for a 19 year old. At first I eas thinking he mistyped it and was 29.

I told all of them that we should not storm the field because we are a powerhouse program and we should act like we have been there before.

Throughout the fourth quarter of Saturday’s game I felt a feeling I had not felt in a long time.

Ever since 2003, a large number of LSU fans including myself have pulled for a National Championship every year, as we should considering we are one of the elite programs of college football, however sometimes as fans we have lost our appreciations for some of the simpler things.

The commercialism and professional vibe that has almost overtaken college athletics was nowhere to be found and I have never felt as happy and as connected with my school, my classmates, and with LSU football.

Like you, I had the same stance on rushing the field but when I walked into the stadium an hour before kickoff and saw the student section 100% full and the rest of the stadium already about 70% full, I thought to myself, "IT'S ALL HAPPENING!" At the end of the game, when I saw those first few students starting to trickle out onto the field, I turned to somebody walking out with me and said, "they deserve it". I'm glad you guys got to experience that. We as LSU fans have started this mentality of we must behave the way an elite program should behave...but you know what? We start acting like the very type of fans we hate and talk crap about, and that's no way to be. Rush the field, yell you suck, STTDB, do what the hell you want, be young, have fun. That's what college is all about!

over the years a little bit of that passion from the early 2000s had faded, and I needed Saturday. The players needed Saturday, the students needed Saturday, the fans who has little bit of that old fashion passion needed Saturday, and above all a generation of future die hard Tiger fans needed Saturday.

I Love it. I hope the student section brings the heat for the Bama game because the rest of the stadium and the players feed off it. I truly believe that. Geaux Tigers.
