Either lied under oath or really didn’t read it. Either are grounds for termination. Sign idea for game day, “5 for 5, never heard of it”

Uh, I thought Jayden Daniel’s owned all rights to “5” used in any context or sentence referencing LSU!!

Lol you're getting paid 4.8 mil per year and can't be bothered to be up to date on every nuance and aspect and the official printing of the rule that is at the epicenter of what you're going into a courthouse for?
Sure Jan....
This is Herb covering for his boss, nothing more

Or this is people getting upset about something that isn’t that big of a deal. There are plenty of things to big mad about, this isn’t really one of them.

That is not what Greg Sankey said at all. He knows the relevant rule. He said he had not seen it in the newly published 2026-27 NCAA Rule Book until today.
Seems to me, part of being SEC commissioner would entail keeping up with and reviewing the latest NCAA legislation. Especially when it only affects EVERYTHING.
This rule came out the day after the CWS ended. I mean, it’s not like he hasn’t had 2 1/2 months to read it or anything. Especially when it’s his fricking job.

Eh, I mean I kind of agree, but isn't it reasonable to expect someone in his position to be knowledgeable about this? Especially at that point in time? Sure I agree, there's much much bigger issues at play

The new rule book was published on August 17th

If he hasn’t seen it, he hasn’t read it.

That’s the semantics part. People are acting like he has no clue what the rule is. I’m sure he’s aware of the rule. He just said he hadn’t read it in the official rulebook that was published 2 weeks ago. It’s semantics

I've taken this angle on SEC Rant and no one wants to respond. He either doesn't know the rules or he lied on the stand to cover up what he knew. This is fricking commisioner of the conference and people are worried about LSU playing a couple of players but they have no issue with it happening all throughout the conference. It's wild.

Ok.
If I don’t take care of a basic, intrinsic part of my job in 3 weeks time, in all likelihood, I’m getting fired.
In any event, you can’t tell me he wasn’t being kept up on the latest happenings, re: publication of that rule book. He’s the commissioner of a major conference, for Pete’s sake.

What if he read it before the rulebook was officially published?

I disagree. He had a professional obligation to demonstrate MASTERY in court. He failed.

Shut up Herb......

I think that’s the point. He is kept up on the latest happenings. He knows the rule. He probably read it before the rulebook was officially published, so he didn’t go back and re-read it. If you actually believe that he has no clue what the 5 for 5 rule is, that’s fine. I’m going to disagree with you on that one

Actually, the point is, I don’t believe him. I think he lied.

About what? You think he lied about reading it in the official rulebook?
