The 2009 team finished the season with a record of 9–5 (6–2 in ACC)
In 2010, Swinney led Clemson to a 6–6 (4–4 in ACC) regular season.
In 2011, Swinney led the Tigers to a 10–3 record that included an ACC Championship
Dabo was promoted from Wr coach off tommy Bowden's staff whom was fired/forced to resign.

After we beat MIA everything was great and the future looked promising. Saturday, we played a DII in state school who we beat 31-0, however; our play didn't look all that impressive.
First, I want to mention that I wish the NCAA would not allow P5 schools to play Dll schools. Between the gap in talent and depth, if the LSUs, Bamas, Oklahomas, OSUs, etc, etc of the world would ball out for 60 mins on these teams, there would be a lot more injuries among Dll players.
I am curious as to how each team prepares for these games. I have never really put much value at all in our play when we play Dll schools. Non-P5 schools, sure, but not Dll schools.
WIth that said, playing it in week 2 allows teams to expose their weaknesses without the mistakes to be costly (or nearly as costly as it would be in a "regular" game). I'd rather see a lot of mistakes being made vs Dll schools than have them exposed for the first time, verses.. Well, 94% of of our other opponents.
In 2012, we finished the regular season 10-2. We beat Towson 38-22. They scored more points on us than the following teams:
Auburn
#10 Florida
#2 South Carolina
#18 A&M
#1 Alabama
#21 MSU
Arkansas
Again, we gave up more points against Townson than we did to teams who were obviously a lot better.
Here is the summary of the Towson game.

We played sloppy, turned the ball over 3 times, we felt short of a "confidence building performance"... Blah blah blah..
In 2010, against McNeese, we won 32-10. For some reason I remember some details of that game. I am pretty sure I was at that one. It was a frustrating game to watch. The team was going through the motions, I just noticed that at HT we were only up 13-10. Yet we finished 10-2. Beat Bama that year as well as a few other ranked teams.
Really, everyone is putting too much into Saturday's game. What really matters is what they take from these games. Don't panic until you see how the team progressed after these games.
It was Burrow's first start in TS and the play calling was somewhat conservative. You can't really compare a team, to past play, until.. I'd say at least the first 3 or 4 games.

I said he's partially to blame. we lack upper classmen depth. that's chronologically impossible for the current regime to fix. sans getting some juco help. many folks wanted traore. he COULD become a player, but as everyone witnessed on Saturday, he's not ready for prime time.

Our coaching is lacking and to be honest it seems rare for louisiana to produce a QB that's able to run the kind of antiquated offenses we've had here for the last 15 years

It’s more than just the OL.
There are countless teams out there who have no more or less talent at OL who still move the ball. They just scheme around it.

Miles has been gone from LSU football for 24 games. Coach O came to LSU in 2015. Since that time he has held the D line coach position, recruiting coordinator position, interim head coach position, and head coach position. One would reasonably think that he has some responsibility for any holes currently on this team.
Coach O will face Auburn this weekend for his 16th game calling all the shots at LSU. He will also face Auburn with his second OC in that time period. He will also face Auburn with a scoring offense and yards per game offense that is worse now than what it was in 2015.
Some people are more than a little frustrated that the offensive production which got the last LSU coach fired is in fact better than the current LSU offense.
Hopefully, all that will change this weekend.

There is only one logical explanation for why the offense never changes:
No one on this staff (or past staffs) knows how to do it.
It's as simple as that. Think about it. None of these old guys are going to admit "yeah, I don't exactly know how to do one of those new offenses." Miles wasn't the only one who got passed up by the game. Then, we bring in a promising young OC who actually has results in Matt Canada. He takes one look at our system and says "Boy, this is fricked. We need a complete overhaul." This ruffles feathers. Testosterone flares. Canada gets fired (and paid) because of feelings. Now here we are again. Asking the Miles regime capos to run an offense they have no experience with or understanding of. If it was attrition and lack of seniors, there wouldn't be podunk G5 teams with freshmen QBs out there lighting it up. Nothing else makes any sense whatsoever and it's what we get for not totally cleaning house on that side of the ball. Spread offenses literally exist to make up for the lack of a dominant OL. We do not have a dominant OL and will not be getting one this year. And yet, we are stuck with the 1950 philosophy about man football between the trenches.
TL;DR - THE OFFENSE DOESN'T CHANGE BECUASE THEY DON'T KNOW HOW TO RUN ANYTHING ELSE AND WON'T ADMIT IT.

The 2016/17 roster when Miles left had 18 Olinemen, only 2 were seniors.
The 2017/18 roster started the year with 17

I agree with you 100%. However, I want to emphasize that Coach O bears most of the responsibility as he was Les' chief recruiter and now head coach.
