Sam Pitman’s Arkansas Staff vs. LSU

Arkansas looked good last night. Sam Pitman picked up coach Barry Odom to be his defensive coordinator and Kendal Briles to be the offensive coordinator. Good picks.
Sam works with the offensive line, and the OL destroyed Texas last night. Brad Davis was a stooge for coach Pitman, so when Ed called Brad, he was ready to go.
Ed picked all rookies. Pitman hired veteran playcallers. What was Ed thinking? Why? Control?
Stupid hires. Now, Both programs seem to be going in opposite directions.

I will take Odom right now, but the LSU defense played fairly well last night.

Maybe it’s because veteran play callers know O is a dead man walking and don’t want to work for him but up and coming guys will take anything just to try and make a name for themselves like Joe Brady.

O is still chasing a unicorn of Brady, I get why he wanted to but everyone except him questioned it. I think defensively he hitched himself to a 4-3 like miles did to his offense, ultimately I think he wanted his handprints on it.

I was just having this debate this morning. I 100% think (and hope) this is his last year. My buddy thinks he gets next year too regardless of what happens.

Their staff is great but eventually they will have the same issue we have.
Arkansas OC isn’t the best Briles can do and Arkansas isn’t the best Odom can do.
So after that they gotta hope they can reload at coordinator.
And their chances of winning a NC before this explodes are low:

Overwhelming majority of this board loved the Brad Davis hire. People shitted on James Cregg just like they were on Aranda, for no reason either. No one questioned the hire being done in June also, which is bad timing, because the season is only 3 months away at that point.
