I think Ego is a better prospect at DE, we're really loaded at the position anyway. DT is needed

They have to have had a mix up. He's reporting on the same stuff that everyone else has reported the last two days so im guessing he just got mixed up because nobody else reported that

Are you serious. We need a speed rusher on the DLine. thats Montgomery. We have dtackles. If anyone projected to DT it would be Ferguson not Sam

Miles just said yesterday that he was a DE.

Logan, Pep, and Brockers are or were moved to DT already so moving him to DT would make zero sense.

He will be a DE and we need him off the edge.

Someone got something mixed up somewhere. Montgomery is a our smallest DE, he is not even close to being a DT.

It may indeed be a mistake, but I still wouldn't rule it out in the future. I know he was the #2 DE coming in, but RS was the #2 dual-threat QB coming in, and look how that turned out.

Just like you can't coach height in basketball, you can't coach bulk in football. Montgomery himself was quoted as saying he'd like to get up to 300 lbs. ESPN said he had the frame to go over 300 lbs when he was recruited.

What's wrong with having fast, big lineman?

As far as the DE position, Miles is quoted as saying:

quote:

Junior college transfer Kendrick Adams, a 6-foot-5, 252-pound end, is showing signs of being ready to start right away.

I really think we'll be fine at DE, but if that's where he ends up, so be it.

Nothing, but if Our fastest lineman moves to tackle then we arent using them correctly. Hes not big enough for d-end yet. Let alone tackle. Its just not a good move. He and Ego should rotate with edwards and adams on the other side.

That's great and all but Sam is not going anywhere...I wouldnt be surprised if hes one of the starting ends by the middle of the season...this thread needs to die now.

dual threat QB is half a step above "athlete"

actually, you can bulk up rather easily...it's just weightlifting and eating

they're no longer fast when they get too big

Which is why those rare individuals who can get big and still be fast are so...rare? And valuable?

W/e. I'm done here.
