No, it was the right move to save their Ace for LSU. They should pitch him sunday afternoon, if they make it that far. They have no shot if they throw him against Jackson st.

more than likely... it never hit his glove... score keepers will give that a hit 99 out of 100 times

it looked like the bullpen fricked up a potential foul ball fly out for ULL

So what Sam houston starter will be on the mound tomorrow? Going by ERA they threw their worst starter today. They used up by far their best reliever throwing him 3 innings.

LSU will be the "visiting" team tomorrow... bat top half of the innings and be in 3rd base dugout

I'm watching the 10 o'clock news. They interview Cajun fan at BWW. He said it's great that two Louisiana teams play each other in the regional.

They have to pitch him against JS

they know they have no chance in this regional if they use him against Jackson, there is no way I would trot him out there. If they lose so be it, but I am saving him if I am making the call. ULL should not have trouble outscoring Jackson with anyone on the mound.

Their "starting DH" tonight is likely their starter tomorrow if they beat ULL.

Caleb Smith (6-2, 185 Jr.) LHP
7-5 with 3.23 ERA
86.1 IP, 60 hits, 56 walks, 69 Ks, .197 BBA

They would be smart to save him for next weekend.

I wouldn't be so sure. Jackson shelled us today and it's not like our bullpen sucks. ULL's does though. They looked better swinging the bat than ULL did.

He must be a ground ball pitcher. That's a lot of walks with low BAA and good ERA.

Raph Rhymes on alert for double plays.

I've been saying this but Ibarra needs to be behind Katz. Rhymes needs to move behind Ibarra.

And Foster deserves a start. He might be the hottest hitter on the team right now.

Rhymes hit a weak infield hit today that was ugly. I'm just saying Ibarra has more power than Rhymes and hits the ball harder. Rhymes is too inconsistent and hits a lot of grounders into DPs. He's not ideal behind Katz because Katz doesn't have the speed to get to 2nd on those grounders. At least with Ibarra you wouldn't have to worry about as many DPs.

Plus Rhymes got his bell rung. No telling what impact that has.
