Now you're using a back handed throw from SS that came from the 3rd base side to justify the routine throws Safford was spiking.

Get the frick out of here.

Y’all are hilariously crazy. We just saw Morgan make 2 really good plays. And one of them was a good dig on Thompson’s throw.... but for some reason; y’all still think that it is ok and excusable that he missed the dig last night on Saffords throw ((didn’t even have to stretch or even really move for it either, it was right to him jsut a one hopper))

The point is he shouldn't be having to dig out multiple throws from the 2nd basemen.

Keep up scooter.

This is an awful comparison. The guy doesn't have it I'm sorry. Nothing about him is similar to Robertson. You could tell Kramer had the athleticism when he came here. This guy doesn't have it mentally or physically. Sorry. It's the truth.

Disagree. He didn't look good yesterday but that's on PM for lack of playing time. Can't just move kids to another position and expect them to be comfortable. Been practicing/playing a little at CF. Big diff in IN & OF.
Saw a lot of Safford in HS. Kid is a throwback/hose pipe type. Was a great FS in 3A and played early for a good team. Would really strike you.
I don't know if he has the talent to be a big time SEC bb player. But working hard and being a tough arse, even at his size, won't be his problem. Know his Dad and kid was raised to be tough. That is welcome in this day of entitlement IMO.

???? That’s a first baseman’s job? If the throws were outrageous or uncatchable I would agree with your argument. But all the throws were reasonable and catchable.

It's the 2Bs job to make good throws. There's nothing "reasonable" about spiking multiple throws from 2nd. Stop bringing up Morgan and other players.

Safford didn't make the routine plays yesterday, plain and simple.

His bounce to first and weird looking flips to second along with his bat wouldn’t allow him to play at many high schools.

I’ve been downvoting every post saying Safford should not be on the team. I think he might develop into a good player. He looks extremely athletic. But he played like shite last night. If you are denying that you are either completely ignorant, or you are his mom.

another one hopper from Thompson that was just easily picked by Morgan

It’s one thing to pick one from a SS who is 100 feet away or more. When a second baseman, who is 50 feet away rifles a ball as hard as he can there is no time for the 1st baseman.

Yeah well at least back then Paul was smart enough and still good enough of a coach to know not to play a terrible freshman when he wasn't ready. Especially in a regional.

This is the problem, not Safford. Everyone needs to lay off this kid. This is 100% on Paul.

Morgan saved his arse several times. Spiking throws in the dirt from 2nd isn’t good.

Every infielder we have spikes balls to Morgan all the time. Morgan saves all their asses most of the time.

Ain't that the truth! If it wasn't for Morgan, we would have had about five errors yesterday.
