Vernon, my condolences to you. My 34-year-old wife of 16 years passed away from inflammatory breast cancer 2 years ago. We enjoyed a number of LSU games together both in person as well as on tv and radio. She left behind 3 sons for me 8, 6, and 4 who are my world now. I think about her every day and look forward to seeing her one day in heaven. I know it is still fresh in your mind with just a few months since her passing....stay busy and cherish your remaining loved ones!

Thanks pianoman. She was married for almost 8 years, she died 12 days shy of her 8th anniversay. She would call me when LSU would struggle and ask me why. I would tell her get used to it. We would celebrate the highs, but get pretty angry at the lows. I know she got that from me.

I often wondered why our lives our lives were cut short at only 16 years together. Then I think about how many people don't have any good years together and it gives me some perspective....guess it's all in the way you look at things. Of course you would always want more time with the ones you love, but we're not the ones in charge of that task! Give your daughter's husband my best and tell him to be strong.

From a Duck fanatic, God bless you and your family. LSU can win for that matter - to honor your daughter. Truly could not I imagine. Stay strong. Cliche as it sounds, she is in an unimaginably wonderful place.

No truer words spoken there. When you get old like me you start to read the obits and wonder what type of lives these people lived and shared. Young people, old people. Kinda like the Beatles song about the ole lady who's funeral nobody came to, All the lonely people.

Very sorry for your loss. My uncle (Keldar) passed away earlier this year and as everyone on this board knows, he was a religious LSU fanatic so I know a similar feeling. Just like ChenierauTigre said (thank you for remembering him, btw) they're both looking down and cheering for the Tigers!

Wish everyone on this board could have met Keldar. In some ways he reminds me of my daughter. Up until she was unable too, she got her children dressed, drove them to school/daycare and did house chores. Never at all cried, felt sorry for herself, in front of me, and most of her friends, relatives.. She did break down a few times in front of her mother, but was strong and believed she could beat this disease.

The constant pain of losing a child has to be very hard every day.

Sympathy to you and your family.

Words are simply words without the voice of when your Daughter who spoke them. And that she is not with us any longer. And that of course is a very hard and harsh reality that we the LSU people and you are left behind to now live with. I am very sure of all the LSU tiger fans and me who are sincerely hoping that their best wishes for you and your family. Will help somehow at this your personality time. To help you now before the LSU vs Oregon football game. John Keith said. A thing of Beauty is a Joy Forever. And that we all now know that your Daughter is Beautiful. And will always be your love, and one of our favorite LSU tiger fan,... Forever.
Best Wishes.

This is kinda of strange maybe coincidence, but several of her favorite movies are also on today. Her mother is flipping channels why I am posting here and watching football. But Grease, Dirty Dancing are on here, two of her favs. Her mother just told me this rain is her crying because she's not here.

This one is for Frankie . On a saturday night about 26 yrs ago she sat patiently with me as I
drank myself stone drunk watching LSU put a massive whipping on T A&M , 35-17. Last week Frankie was laid to rest on the day that would have been her 59 th birthday . If you are lucky
enough to have a Frankie in your life tell her
what she means to you . Life is short .
Condolences to Vernon & Pianoman . LINK

I am an LSU fanatic. I also have a daughter. Thank you reminding me for what's important. I cannot imagagine - I mean really cannot understand - the physical feeling involved - of losing a child.

I'll be sure and pray for your comfort tonight.

And here we are, fussing about arrest, talking about the best, where was Les? Oh he was there in Dallas, and won the this battle. But there was no grass eating tonight, and no pick six! And for Brooke tonight, well we all know where she is at! Brooke is with the "Mad Hat"!!!
