Saban inherited a roster with over 20 NFL players. Kelly has the benefit of the transfer portal. Hard to compare, different times.

This, like anything else the game has evolved for better or worse, NIL and transfer portal allow you to turn a roster around quickly which theoretically should lead to earlier success than we have traditionally seen.

Way too early to make claims like this.

If Nuss and the WRs return (Thomas, AA, Daniels), then even if with the exodus on the OL we could have a functioning offense with the right scheme. And if they all leave, then it's gonna be a big rebuild on offense.

I expect us to better on D. Much better IDK, but better.

Not sure what to make of the schedule. Opening at Clemson will be rough. Road games at Bama and OM but they'll be breaking in new QBs.

In my opinion, this is overblown somewhat, if you're competing in a conference like the SEC and typically recruit well.

You aren't finding many above average SEC level starters in the portal. I would have much rathered keep O's classes than to have to go to the portal and recruit spare parts from small schools or guys who hadn't worked out at their first stop.

I think the portal does give a lower level program the opportunity to compete a bit quicker though.

As far as the roster, BK came into a train wreck. It was a far worse situation as far as that’s concerned.

Then please answer why I would much prefer his year 1 roster to his current roster?

I haven’t completely given up on him but that’s on him.

What do you like better about the year 1 roster? I think the defensive backfield was obviously better but that's the only thing that stands out.

Otherwise, the season has played out much the same, so far.

Recent memory tells me Joe Burrow and Jayden Daniels improved greatly in their 2nd season. If he stays, maybe Nuss will do the same.
If Nuss is looking out for his future he will leave LSU and BK and go somewhere he can showcase his abilities with a well built team around him. Next year will be even worse for LSU.

Last year LSU wins maybe 6 games without Daniels. This year this team has overachieved. There is zero imagination in the running game. Kelly is trying to play Notre Dame football in the SEC. After what Michigan offered Underwood and after what he saw last week I’d be stunned if he came to LSU.

You are gonna stroke out tonight.

Especially since Underwood posted that himself.
