Drew should shut up and play ball. He was asked the question about kneeling and answered it. Now, he could have just lied because if he refused to answer you'd get the same result.

Stephen A and Shannon Sharpe were both outraged at Drew but neither did enough show prep to know that he was asked about the kneeling directly. Both went on TV and condemned him for bringing up out of the blue.

Glad to hear it! Thanks for being consistent.
But you're confusing Brees' right to give his opinion and reasoning...for some mythological right to not be disagreed with.
Also, if Brees was as consistent as you, he would have said "there is nothing wrong with that" when asked about the kneeling protests. Right?

No. He said back in 2016 that he didn't agree with sitting for the anthem. He didn’t change anything until he issued an apology.

Ryan Clark is a dumbass loud mouth. Did you not see how he acted during the LSU run? This after he basically said Joe Burrow sucked. Same as he has said about Brennan. Something tells me Clark wants a black QB at LSU
He does. He pitched a fit when McMillian and Narcisse left.
But too bad for him it looks like he's going to be waiting a while unless Finley blows up which btw would be awesome
He also complained this offseason that the LSU staff was a bunch of old white guys and it would hurt them in recruiting
He was dead wrong on that also

So if he's not willing to overtly show SUPPORT for the anthem protests, then why can't he at least say "there is nothing wrong with (Kaepernick's peaceful protests)"
As you seem willing to do, out of respect for the 1st amendment.
why start talking about your grandpa's war effort, instead of at the very least, acknowledging the players' 1st amendment right to peacefully protest during the anthem? like you would have done.
In my opinion, he wimped out and took the easy, selfish road. That being said, he apologized today, and we ALL make mistakes. Doesn't mean he's a horrible person, just that he isn't keeping up with the times, and his tone-deafness was shouted thru a megaphone. And people expect more from a leader. So he paid a public-relations price, not a criminal one, and people will wait to see what actions he takes next.

I downvoted your dumb arse. He don’t owe no one an apology I’m disappointed he did

Sorry I could only give 1 up vote.

We don’t know the extent that either of them have done to help the black community. We are not either one of them so we can’t say that.
Posted on 6/4/20 at 9:00 pm to TigerLunatik
It’s not headed that way and I think we all know that. And you’re 100 correct that Drew has the right to express his opinion and nobody should even attempt to silence that.

Bend the knee or your career and liveihood get destroyed. Your legacy Tarnished. Brees did the RIGHT thing and Ryan by virture of being black, has more clout and expertise when it comes to this subject.

Yeah he was never too outspoken about LSU the way Spears always has been then all of a sudden, in 2019 he’s all about the tigers. Booger is not much better. The Saban era guys are loyal to him they’re idiots. They played for LSU not for the university of Nick Saban
Man you nailed it right here.

Why aren’t players then entitled to their opinion to kneel??? The logic on this board is lost. This is America...Wake up people. If you protest peacefully you are exercising your rights. Why someone doing so bothers so many is astounding. If you don’t like it then peacefully boycott. That’s how it works.

Why is it when a black person expresses his feeling he is a dumb arse, get a life.

The players should be able to kneel if that's how they choose to protest. Drew Brees should be able to hold his own opinion about the flag and be able to express that opinion when asked directly about it. It's not as if he's been speaking out about it.
Those that are protesting continually say that it's not about the flag anyway and that the protest is about social injustice. So, why is anyone upset when a player says what Brees said? They should still be able to work together toward a common goal. It doesn't have to be an us against them thing.
Brees can disagree with Michael Thomas,
Malcolm Jenkins, Ed Reed, Steven Jackson, etc about the kneeling and still agree about why the protest is occurring. People don't have to agree about every little thing to be on the same side of an issue. What we need is communication and compromise to improve.

Fascist require everyone to fall in a specific line and to not deviate from that line even by a little. No freedom of speech or thought is their ideology and the people conforming to their demands are making a deal with the devil himself. Once they’re done using them to get what they want they’ll be subjected to the same treatment using some phony morality excuse to justify it.

I don't understand the all or nothing mentality by any group of people, no matter how big or small. If a group of like minded individuals all think the exact same way, how are they ever going to improve as a group?

This is an orchestrated event not an organic thing. It’s totally organized which is why there’s a script. Of course not everybody’s in on the deal they’ve just been indoctrinated under false pretenses.
