They have a black head coach. They’re safe

Now that the CDC is finally posting the real death #s on their website, maybe stuff can get back to normal. It's under 10,000 total deaths due to Covid if you don't feel like looking. They were off by 94%
Yeah, can you believe they were counting like 50,000 people who actually died of respiratory failure as COVID deaths?? Unbelievable.
.. In all seriousness, this conspiracy theory is the kind of shite that undermines any legitimate argument about the national response.

The CDC data is now a conspiracy? Gosh, I thought the CDC was the gospel...I guess until their numbers didn’t go along with the politics anymore

Someone should retweet this at rc as a reminder...not only for him to see but his followers

That reads like a Trump tweet lol.

This is the story.
I don't think Clark got involved with the Chase decision. But, what he did do this weekend was way worse.

No, a lack of understanding around how comorbidities work has led to a conspiracy theory that less than 10,000 people have died from COVID. 6% were only coded to COVID, that’s true. It’s also true that some of the comorbidities listed on the CDC website include:
- Adult respiratory distress syndrome (ARDS), 21,899 deaths
- Respiratory arrest, 3,282 deaths
- Respiratory failure, 54,803 deaths
There’s no point even getting into the argument about truly unrelated comorbidities because, ultimately, there’s no reasonable argument to be had with anyone who thinks a death shouldn’t be counted as a COVID death because respiratory failure was listed as a comorbidity.

Doesn’t Ryan Clark have any Alabama players he can care about?

Here’s a thread on the OT explaining.

The true number is still far less than the number being used by governments to influence policy. That’s the problem. Even if the number is half of what it is instead of 9k, that’s still very significant

“LSU football coach Ed Orgeron said Tuesday he has spoken to his players and former players about their feelings in the wake of the George Floyd death that has sparked large-scale civil rights protests.
“My players and former players are hurting, and they let me know they’re hurting,” Orgeron said Tuesday in an interview with Sports Illustrated. “When they’re hurting, it hurts me. I love all my players like they were my own. I know some are hurting right now, and I totally support them. I will not tolerate racism, and they know it.”
“I told them my feelings, which stays in house, but they know I will not tolerate racism,” Orgeron said. “Everybody has a right to voice their opinion. We’re not going to stop that. I told them to be careful.”
“I have seen the incident,” Orgeron said. “I think it’s terrible. I just want the players and former players to know I’m there to support them.”
Coach O is a leader who cares about his players.
Funny how after Clark got his career and money in the NFL, the entire "system" that enabled that is now controlled by white coaches who don't care about black players.
Clark is peddling a vile, pernicious lie and he knows it.

Action vs Words
Coach O and his staff helped a record number of athletes, mostly Black, get rich this past season.
When R C does something of that magnitude to aid his
brothers, then he can stand up and crow.
Until then he should think before he makes a bigger fool of himself.
When ESPN gets all they can get out of him, he will be come expendable. He may need a friend.

O did not lead the team...He also never spoke on protest following George Floyd’s murder.
By the way, violent felon George Floyd died of a drug overdose.

You’re giving him too much credit. I don’t think he’s smart enough to know how much he’s been played by the media he works for.

Maybe it was damn near the whole offensive line getting quarantined for Covid. That finally made him realize this shite is not going away or getting better.
Who would’ve thought as we were watching the greatest season of all time that everything would be so different just months later?
This is all still so surreal.
I hate this shite.
