Right, but you dont "accidentally" put shite on your hat and unintentionally doctor a ball.
Its possible to accidentally balk and happens all the time. The other does not.

Ever heard of the balk move? Ever seen a player fake getting hit by pitch? Ever see teams steal opponent's signs? Cheating happens in baseball. It's disrespectful for a college player to address a coach the way he did.

I'm not a fan of Reynolds' reaction. I just think it's funny that anyone would defend Riser as if he really though Russell was cheating.

And PM did too because when Riser ran to tell on RR like a child, PM told him "well.....he's pissed off.....
I missed this, is there video of this as well, or is this coming from people at the park?

Whether or not you want to define those as cheating is up to you. All occur frequently and do not need the aid of illegal material.

You could read CPM's lips last night on SECN+

Still not cheating anymore than leaning into a pitch is cheating. There's just a penalty if you're caught doing it.
If you're caught doctoring a baseball you're ejected from the game.

Yea youre talking about the small in-game heat of the moment stuff.
Riser publicly accused him of cheating. Pre-calculated, intentional, blatant cheating. The stuff professionals get fines and suspensions for. Respect is off the table. Sorry, not sorry.

That point was that it's not an accident.

I read his lips when it was happening. He said other stuff but didnt catch that.

It was funny, but yeah, he should have maintained more composure and let Coach handle it IMO.

Opposing coach should have waited until the inning ended.
What? Why?
Because it wouldn't have been a spectacle that looked it was only meant to rattle Russ.
If he waits til the inning is over, the ump checks Russ's hat in the dugout, everythings good and you get on the with the game

This thread is ate up with the dumbass. On all sides. Including me for commenting in it.

I'll just let CPM speak for college baseball fans when he said he's never seen that in 30 years of college coaching. Do the math, minimum of 40 games a year, that's 1,200 baseball games. So, this one time, this one situation out of 1,200 games, Riser was just doing his job? And there is another way to look at his bush league as well: if he could see the "goo" from the dugout or coaches' box, did he not think either CPM or Coach Dunn in Reynold's own dugout could not see it, too? To me, that's a swipe at their character as well. But consider me an old "get off my lawn type": old school baseball, Reynold's did what any hard nosed pitcher would do. This happened on a baseball diamond. If you need a safe space to protect your feelings, go enroll at Mizzou.

Did we ever find out what the goo on his hat was?

There was none. Dirt smudge on front of bill (most obvious area of a hat btw) but the umps werent even looking at that area. It was a cheap ploy by Riser to disrupt rhythm or boost his club

bullshite! He was checking the hat to get into his Reynolds head. And it worked. Very bush league!

That part happened right in front of me. Riser definitely ran to Paul and both had words for each other. I couldnt read their lips tho.
Developing: one of RR's HS teammates on SLUs team told Riser he used pine tar in high school and hid it under a bunch of dirt on his hat.
