Nah. Les miles ran. The. Ball. We scored 0 pts against Bama with that approach.
Attack.
Attack.

Hit them with 1 or 2 screens with big yardage will slow that blitzing down.

what great context.
we ran into 8 and 9 man fronts between the damn tackles.
predictable as shite
big difference between that and using whole field to run and pass like we do now. if they give us the run we will take it especially with RPO post snap reads.

The Saints on Sunday are the perfect example of what happens when you don’t run the ball. With that said these coaches have been dead on all year and have made great adjustments when needed. They just need to continue doing what they do best!

if the run is there and clemson is not stacking the box, don't think for a second burrow won't hand that ball off to clyde

That’s what Clemson wants us to do. It’s not that it won’t work. It will. But half the time the bitzes and stunts will run right into the back and drop us for a loss or no gain. And every so often they’ll string a couple of those together and that forces a punt. They’re okay with LSU gashing them between the 20s. They’re just hoping for a few stops, a couple of turnovers, and to hold us to field goals in the red zone. If they get that they are okay with 300 yards of rushing.
If we’re going to win it’ll be because Burrow beat the blitz like he has all year. He’ll hit the hot routes for big gains, or he’ll duck through the rush and hit a bomb or run for a first down.

And everybody knew Les was going to run. There was no attempt - ever - to be balanced.
You can’t stack the box against our weapons, you can’t sell out against the run against Burrow. Venebles goal is going to be to confuse Burrow by giving him looks he hasn’t seen all year.
If Venebles is going to be mixing up looks, our Oline will have leverage against blitzes and stunts as well as with linebackers dropping in zone.
Huge advantage with our running game, especially with Clyde’s cutting ability.
Agree with those who brought up the RPO game. No one is saying don’t be balanced, but the running game is going to be open if Venebles is aggressive. Running the ball is much more foolproof against DC’s who pride themselves on outscheming you.

To the dude who said you can't scheme against the run, you have got it bass ackwards. There is always a sure fire solution to the run in stacking the box, unless the talent disparity is just too great. The easy solution to the run is what brought about modern offenses like ours.

Agreed.
I remember vs Alabama in 2011, after they ran all over us in the 9-6 game (which they should’ve won) AJ McCarron came out and ran like five straight play-action passes on us. Everyone was focused on stopping the run and selling out on the RBs and they played us like a fiddle.

Hell, I'm surprised some of the people on the Rant manage to remember how to breathe.
