Welch not breaking through is hurting. You also needed to sign an elite prospect in the 23 class and that didn’t happen.
It’s good to hear that Stamps looks like a recruiting hit but his contributions in 23 will be limited.
If Harris is suspended then going after him in the portal turned out to be a boneheaded decision. DB is going to be a massive issue for this team.

We did. We got 4 CBs in the portal.
an all-conference CB in Chestnut
a former starter at ohio state in Johnson
a potential all-american in Harris
and a small college CB Alexander who looks to have big time potential. Can't predict injuries on Johnson. Worst case scenario they slide Toviano back to CB and let Brooks/Ryan play nickel/dime situations if need be.

I always found it very odd that some players have such a hard time being as they are involved in something that has so much structure and demand of their time.

Yeah, if Johnson is healthy we've got 6 good corners this season. Not fair to criticize staff on this, because they have been gangbusters in the portal.

Yeah, it's possible Johnson comes back this year too depends on the type of fracture he has. I'd guess he's probably out for the season though.

if you have to 2 lockdown CBs you're doing amazing in NCAA. all you need behind them is competency from your CBs. if it came down to it they'd let Brooks slide down to help as he's at least decent here. Ryan got burned a lot last year but he really wasn't that far out of position to make plays. Reports are he looks much better and more comfortable so that can only help and they might put him in a nickel/dime role who knows.
