Unfortunately the Saints don't have a first rounder. Which takes away anything positive, for me that is, of him entering the draft.

Damn, you are right. I forgot about that Ingram pic last draft.

Regardless of any possible comment during the heat of the moment, I've heard she's interested in him getting his diploma, and his dad is excited about the possibility of Mettenberger at QB next year.

Randle could be the top draft eligible receiver next year. That's a huge jump up the compensation ladder.

I heard the same thing about her wanting him to get a degree. But after seeing him so frustrated & stymied, it may be a moot point.

This is a question that should really bake your noodle:

Did Jordan Jefferson's suspension cost us Rueben Randle's Senior Year?

I'd argue that indeed it did.

I don't think anyone "knows" what they will do at the combine. People have bad days. First round grade, he should go.

Why take the all that risk his senior year then?

Show what he can do with an actual QB.
Last year Julio Jones was the first WR taken.
4 yrs 16 million guranteed.

26th pick was a WR
4 yrs 7 million with 3 guaranteed.

First WR in the second got:
4 yrs 4.56

I would want to try for the 16 million, but that's just me. I know nothing is guaranteed, but he wouldn't be crazy to come back.

Hard to not be frustrated when your QB has 25 yards total and the coach can't get his nuts out of his mouth.

Randle should definately leave. He'll be a mid round pick(3rd or 4th). He has received terrible coaching here at LSU, and unless Billy G is fired, it won't get any better. Randle has a great set of hands, but unfortunately, unless the QB throws it over his head/away from his body, he never uses them. Time and time again, you'll see Reuben attempt to trap the ball with his body instead of catching it with his hands. A few years of NFL coaching and RR will be an elite receiver in the NFL.

I don't get your line of thinking. RR blew up early this year, relatively. His junior season has been very good, though spotty due to the low number of passes attempted in some games.

you should leave and get back to the Pizza Hut. So you're saying with a better QB he's not going to improve his stock?

Exactly. If JJ would've been the QB the entire time, Randle would've had shitty numbers and would've stayed. That's his argument at least.

so basically if hes graded at 4th or 5th wr it wouldnt matter what he does at the combine if those other guys grade just as good or better.

According to NFLdraftscout.com RR2 is listed as the #4 WR for 2013. This scouting service doesn't consider if a player leaves early. For instance, Justin Blackmon is listed 1 for 2013. If you consider this, RR2 has a chance of going late 1st, 2nd. He should come back because he could be one if the top 2 WRs taken next year.

for WR's, production isn't everything when it comes to the draft. This years wr draft is pretty stacked(Blackmon, Floyd, Jeffrey, the USC wr's if they declare, Cunningham @ MSU, Toon at Wiscy, Maze, Adams, etc). All i'm saying is WR's are a dime a dozen. Take the money while you can. Being drafted in the 3rd or 4th in this WR class isn't bad, at all.

No matter what all you haters are saying Rueben was projected as the top NFL WR prospect coming out of HS.

He should get interest from teams as a 1-2 rounder IMO.

I could be wrong in which case forget what I posted up there..

Yeah, that was a great performance. Did you see all those great passes by our superman qb. What mother of a college WR wanting to go pro would not want her son to stay around for more of "This"

Laughable.

FWIW I heard Chris Landry, on Krysan's show, say he projected as a late 2nd to early 3rd .

Ok genius, what have you seen in Mettenberger that makes him a "real" QB. Did you not read what I said in this thread earlier? He is completely unproven. You don't think RR knows more than you? Why couldn't Mettenberger push two average QBs out the way. Instead he sits third behind them. You're basing it entirely off hype. Plus the added pressure he'll have next year coming off this 13-0 season. A injury at QB next year and both RR/LSU are fricked. Because we'll have two RS Freshman QBs behind him.

And RR knows his physical ability, so he knows what he is capable of doing in the combine. Bad day or not.
