1) It's not like trent isn't recruiting the state's best talent. He has and is. Ludwig, darenbecker, and Issac are the three top players in louisiana the past three years.

2)"he has no big's that can play" he's recruited o'bryant and hamilton to come in.

3)once you get a star (obryan't) it will make the roll players better. (white, warren, hamilton)

4)he has to recruit program players. the 5 star/elite players are going to go to duke, kentucky, u.n.c.. where basketball is at lsu today, no crowd support, the top talent isn't going to come. it's not like trent doesn't want to recruit these players, they don't want to come. you have to build the foundation to get them here.

5) 2012, on paper, should show signs of getting better. Turner, Darenbecker, issac, stringer, obryan't, hamilton, white, dotson and a healthy warren. should give you the ability to compete.

i agree with all the above he has stated. i would add that very few people understand the apr situation trent was left as well as the 5 and 3 rule he was up against when he took over.

there isn't a doubt in my mind trent will succeed if given time. he's been to successful everywhere he's been. he didn't forget how to coach or recruit the last two years. it's a talent issue right now.

trent's biggest hit this year came when k.c. ross miller was ruled ineligible. he was the true point guard to run this team. something we haven't had in 10-15 years.

things aren't going to get much better this year. this is a major rebuilding process he's undertaking. he's the man for the job and will get it done.

he chose us when very few were interested. let's give him time. patience is a virtue.

that's why it's probably best to not get all bent out of shape about lsu basketball right now, because it's gonna be ok eventually (maybe 2 or 3 years).

A lot of this is excuses though man. TJ's first year we went to the tourny. Last year was an obvious rebuilding year, but this year the team should at least be competitive. They are not. I won't be upset if TJ comes back next year, but it def is time for some results.

The spirit of this post is a perfect attitude FOR THREE YEARS AGO. What has Trent accomplished in three years? Isn't the program worse now than when he got here? Basketball can be rebuilt rather quickly with a few pickups. It seems LSU has none of those over the past few years. But you guys keep believing. 2012 is the year. I heard it here.

What has Anthony Grant done at Bama? That program was crap before he came in.

I am one of those people. How can Kentucky have 4 or 5 one-and-doners every year and not have problems with graduation rates?

I'm not ready to turn on Trent yet, but I can't stand to see the LSU basketball program where it is. I love LSU basketball, but this is painful.

They will have a problem. The APR tracks a few years in the past. UK has only been doing this since last year.

You are correct. The people wanting tj fired are idiots. He is building a program from scratch. Brady did nothin to build a program. Brady built teams. There is a difference.

The APR marks are a four-year composite, that measures academic eligibility and retention of student-athletes.

give them time. it's a four year deal.

He beat the crap out of our team, in addition to beating Kentucky......and most of all they have at least been competitive in their games and doesn't have a long string of blowouts.

ok, didn't trent do this in his first year? so grant doing it in year two is more significant?

Georgia beat Kentucky as well, but has a losing record in the conference. That's the measuring stick now?

This is Grant's second year. When this season is complete, compare his first two years against TJ's first two years and tell me who had the better two year run.

And don't give me any "Brady's players" bullshite. Alabama's best player, by far, is a Gottfried holdover.
