Ruby Stauber transfers to Oregon

This is a big loss. Ruby finished 5th in the 800M in the NCAA Championships as a freshman. She’s capable of winning multiple NCAA Championships before she’s done.
This would be the equivalent of Grant Delpit suddenly announcing he’s transferring to Alabama after a successful freshman season.
Not a good look for Dennis Shaver and LSU track when star freshmen transfer out.
Anyone know the inside story?

T&F died when we let Henry walk. It’s over. Shaver has underachieved. Following the best in the business is tough but he’s a failure by comparison.

Can we trust Alleva to find Shaver’s replacement?
The man who hired the shrimp boat captain can’t be trusted to hire any new coaches outside of basketball.
We must get rid of F. King and Alleva before such an important hire is screwed up and T&F is allowed to sink further into mediocrity.

It seems to me he is just drawing a paycheck.
He seems to have no interest in recruiting a complete team that could win a natty. We recruit sprinters and middle distance well, but he seems to mostly neglect field and long-distance recruiting.
Stauber’s transfer hurts. I’m not saying it directly relates to Shaver’s coaching; I don’t know, that’s why I was asking.
But it stings to lose a future NCAA champion who would be piling up in he points for us. Hell, Oregon is loaded and just keeps getting more loaded.

They are replacing the track, which is good, but the facility is a shithole.
I was at the outdoor meet in April with Southern Cal and two other big schools. The sound system squeaked and squawked all day. Embarrassing in front of visiting athletes, parents, coaches, and fans of traditional track and field powerhouses.

No, it doesn’t have to be.
But Stauber was heavily recruited. If she wanted to run for the most visible TF program, she would have gone to Oregon in the first place.
Shaver has had a shite show with his assistants, much like Orgeron. I just wonder if that contributed to Stauber’s abrupt transfer.
