I think CPM sticks to closely to pitch counts, you are up by 1 in a very important game your bullpen is depleted and hasn't pitched well, F the pitch count and keep him in.

It's possible they are trying to save his arm as best they can for the postseason, I have no clue. But we really continue to shoot ourselves in the foot it seems like every Sunday when Cartwright comes out.
